there is one scenario I have not seen expressed. What if the Celtics medical staff told the Cavs that  IT is expected back by the beginning of the season, but IT told the Cavs he is not going to be back by then. This may be what is holding up the deal.

The quote for IT says it all 'Maybe I am not going to be back as soon this season as everyone wants me to be'. KEYWORD: wants

Also, keep in mind that the neither the Cavs or the Celtics are particularly interested in IT's future. Celtics dont really have a stake, and Cavs only need him to get them a championship this next season even if he compromises the rest of his career doing so. The Celtics want IT back soon to seal the trade, Cavs want him back soon to help them win. It may however be in IT's best interest to rest and heal.

IT refusing to come back sooner for his long term health is probably what is holding up the deal.

I feel kind of bad for IT in all of this as well.  I hope that he comes back this year and plays well no matter where he ends up.

Lebron ...crying cause he has tomplay harder to keep winnng without a scorer like IT or Irving .  Lebron is mentally weak...if he thinks he is doomed going in , the guy just seems to fall to pieces.  He needs confidence all the time.  Lebron said he was underhanded player wise last year ,  take Irving away ....lord is he gonna cry now.   You know he is moaning and groaning in the background to the FO.

Bron should just suck it up and play, if he ever uses Love correctly they're a contender.

 nothing but street ball with Lebron running the show for the most part , i wonder if they can have an organizied practice.   Nobody wants to establish a correct hierarchy of a team.   All this tiptoeing around Lewhine and his divaness is sick.

I think this is nonsense. Kyrie led the team in shot attempts and usage.  They had the third best offense in the NBA. What is Lebron to blame for?

The issue is defense, where the team had to cover for Love and Kyrie. The only guys with any real defensive ability were Lebron, Thompson, and - when healthy and committed - Smith. They have no rim protector, and they struggle at switching.

But he is injured, which is just another way to say damaged.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I interpret it differently.

Injured = temporary.

Damaged = permanent.

This type of naked damage control now passes for something motivational? SMH.

IT sounds like he is saying pretty much what Danny told the Cleveland crooks and doctors said to start with  . He is still on the mend but will play eventually .   Thats all anyone can say about this point.  There are no money back warrenties with IT future ...LOL. ...Cleveland smoke n crack......trade at your own risk.

classic Buyers remorse ....Cleveland pushed the " Buy IT now " button

All the media hoopla how Danny was fleeced , high fives ,   then their brains clicked on ......OH wait ....Whine ......but but but we really did n't mean to trade Irving ..... ::)

Thomas s statement IMO for the Nth time destroys the Cleveland extortion attempt.
