Think he would be very helpful vs Toronto and Washington

For those that didn't know, he's actually the adoptive brother of the Morris Twins, undoubtedly part of the reason behind this signing.

One human who exudes the model I hope T Rob can fulfill, as a Celtic, changed the game for undersized guys playing center.

This man, with killer afros & corn rows, did NOT break out for several seasons. It may not have been until said 6' 9" player was passed over by Rick Pitino in Boston, flailed out of position in Orlando and finally arrived in Detroit, under a solid head coach playing for a real organization that he flourished.

That man was everything for interior D. Devastating. Big Ben Wallace.

3 years in crappy Washington. 1 year in crappy Orlando. Age 26 in Detroit .... boom. This is my hope for Thomas Robinson.

While it's a long shot, it certainly isn't out of the question.  Looking at what Boston did for guys like Jordan Crawford, Evan Turner, Jae Crower and Jared Sullinger - look at what all of those guys looked like in Boston compared to outside of Boston, and it's almost like day and night.

Robinson has a crap-ton of physical talent, a hard working mentality and a nose for the ball as a rebounder.  If he could make some modest improvements to his jumper and defence (to the point of being at least passable), then he could be a quality rotation player for years.

I think Robinson could match up well against Tristan Thompson. Guys like Thompson have been killing The Celtics for years. I think this years team is better suited to handle that type of player but I think Robinson would match up well against those rebounding hustle players.

T-Rob will excel as a small-ball center. Many teams were always pegging him as a 4. As a result, they are not maximizing his strengths as he cannot spread the floor like a modern 4. The guy seems to thrive on PnR and transitions due to his sheer athleticism. I think he's better than Deandre Jordan when he's given a greenlight as a rim protector and play as a Center. He also have a solid handles for a big.

This is his college scouting long ago, but he have shown potential that he can play through switches unlike any real centers in the league.

He have shown flashes of his passing skill too.

An athletic 26 years old big is a fine thing to have on the team but he is actually not all that big.  His measurements for height w/o shoes and standing reach are about the same as Marcus Morris:

Robinson:             6'-7.75"               8'-10.0"
Morris                  6'-7.00"                8'-9.50"

I think that has been Robinson's problem, not quite big enough to play center and not quite the right skill set to play PF.  I know, basketball is supposed to be position-less these days.  Doesn't seem we would want Robinson and Baynes on the court at the same time, maybe TRob and Horford for short stretches.  Seems like a tough fit even for Stevens to figure out.

Good points on his measurements. But if there is a coachin the NBA who can make Robinson a player, CBS is it.

Again, a nice signing of a deep depth player with some potential.

Just curious as to where those measurements came from. He would basically need to be wearing high heals to go from 6'7.75" as you stated to 6'10", which is what I see everywhere else. No sneaker added 2.25" in height.

Good to hear the C's working out a big. We're thin up front and a guy like Thomas Robinson would fit well, skill-wise. I hope he's a culture fit!

I would love this. At least he rebounds well.

I like the chance of this signing vs a older player who might only play one game and crumble into a million pieces. Maybe Stevens can find the pot of gold buried within Robinson.

The guy can rebound.  We need a PF/C desperately so I am interested.  I do like Bogut but the injury stuff scares me.
