I know plenty of people think we paid too much and can't stomach adding an additional asset for Kyrie but since we've shown our hand this much already there's more value in completing the deal and avoiding the potential chemistry storm that would come from a voided trade.

When imagining a Kyrie/Jaylen/Taytum/Hayward/Horford Celtics, in the grand scheme of things we're not going to miss another first round pick or Terry Rozier. It would sting but overall wouldn't change the trajectory of the future.

All that being said hearing that Marcus Smart could be included instead of Isaiah is the tipping point. No deal, I can't see us with Isaiah and Kyrie and no Smart or Bradley. I've been in Ainge's camp through this whole off-season but this team wouldn't work without a defensive presence in the backcourt to offset the iso scorers.

What's your non starter? How far would you go to get this deal done? Smart? Terry? Another FRP?

We'd miss the LAL pick if it turns out to be a high one.

Adding another asset like that would be stupidity.

This is how far I go to get it done. Put #1 protection on the Brooklyn pick and tell them to pound sand. That pick is the only thing keeping LeBron there beyond this season. I don't think Kris Middleton, Justice Winslow or Eric Bledsoe keep GM LeBron there. However, the most valuable asset in the league (Brooklyn pick), can get them whoever LeBron wants in return.

They have no leverage to ask for more.

If anything, it should be us asking for more
Truuuuuuuuuth!

I am ok with anything but the Lakers pick, Tatum or Brown being included.

No . way they get Brown or Tatum .....Danny will never do that .....only for Davis ...he would save them as bait.   Tatum coupd be the next Celtic Star ...no way in the world .

The MOST i d add would be Rozier and then wave IT out the door on a fast train.

Add a much less Celtic future 1 st  or Semi or Nader or Rozier ......

i tell em take IT or leave IT .....end of talks .....see if anybody else coughs up a deal as good.

I seriously doubt it .

So all the hype had people fooled .....oh yeah Cavs won trade .....Danny was no fool ...he knew IT was worthless hurt with that injury .

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
I might add a 2nd round pick...could possibly be convinced to include our 2018 1st if my life depended on making a decision right now.

Anything else is an absolute no. No Smart, no Yabusele,  no Rozier, no Mem or LAC picks, and obviously no Brown/Tatum/LAL pick.

Throw in our own 2018 pick and let's get it done

No turning back now. Can't bring back IT now

Can anyone make a GIF of Cavs GM Koby Altman bending Danny Ainge over and spanking him?  Because I think that would come in really handy in these trade talk threads.

All I'd add would be maybe our 2018 first, if we got desperate.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that. I just want all this to be over with.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Is this an attractive asset? Do you think Cleveland would be very happy to acquire it?
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Ainge can't let CLE hold him hostage.

They ask for more you shake their hand and tell them you're taking your BRK pick back to Boston.

Yeah ....I know ...its almost bad karma after all the sweating everybody went though to get him , CBS dream rookie Forward .

I would not trade Tatum for Irving .....same as GS declined offers , or Minny Wiggins

The best deal Cavs can get is Crowder and Nets pick .

If that Nets pick is Bagley , and Cavs GM misses out ....he is toast ...... a long shot the next star is better than NO ShOT at all.

Im not sweetening the trade ,  IT was broken all along ,   TO the Cavs :  do  the Nets pick and Zizic Crowder ......or LUMP it.

Let GM Kobe be the one who turned down Bagley .  .....got zip for Irving and Lebron Walks

take back IT and add in Larkin.  Then I'd send them a picture of my ballsack.   they knew the deal.

No additional  compensation.  Unfortunately  we waive or carry Thomas injured and that sucks. Then we go back to Smart and Rozier as our PGs. Run the offense through Horford and Hayward which we were going to do anyway.  Now we lack the penetrator that facilitates all those 3pt shots. That means we need a post up player more than ever.
