If IT fails his physical and the trade is rescinded, the posters against the trade are going to be left wondering how we can replace our crippled PG and how much it would cost to replace him and suddenly the BRK pick for Kyrie is going to look more than fair to them.

The Cavs want IT to go see a hip specialist and have their Dr's check him out. It would be really crazy if this trade is voided.

McHale said teams always waive the physical and let trades go through knowing that rehab will correct an injury. IT hasn't played all summer.

...stay tuned.

Trade cant be voided

If IT4 doesnt show up, this is the Cavs problem now

They can remedy the situation by suing IT4, buying him out etc

Lol. What are they going to sue IT for?
money.  ;D

This doesn't make any sense unless you think Ainge was trying to swindle Cleveland by dumping a hurt IT on them.

Cavs were more concerned with getting that BK pick, than IT's health.

Bingo......thats all they are jumping up and down about.   James might stay ....not because of IT ....because of how the pick might be tradeed to aquire another Star  . Most of the time you need a top 3 or 5 min to get the most trade power.  Pretty much if the pick is 6 or higher , James an't hanging around .   The wiggins pick brought him Love....you know he saw that Lottery and instantly knew that meant they could get a Star to go along with Irving ....and like lightening James was gone.  .   It really needs to be 1-3 to have that ability to suck a team into,a trade and get a player that will satisfy LeWhine enough to remain.

Im sure the goal is to attempt to get PG in order to keep LeWhine there.

Maybe its 1-3 and maybe it won't be . .....

That's why we also gave up the Brooklyn pick. The trade will go through, don't worry.

It's more of a thought experiment to show that the people against the trade aren't dealing with the reality of Isaiah's hip, and if they suddenly had to, they would change their tune. I have no doubt that Cleveland made the trade with full knowledge of Isaiah's hip's condition. The trade was really about Kyrie-for-BRK. If they get half a year of a hobbled IT, Cavs'll probably still be happy with the trade.

A lot people (myself included) would have a differing opinion about this trade if in fact IT doesn't come back healthy. I don't think one should just assume either or right now though.

It is, but only technically.  He just needs to not have results that are considerably different from the medical records the Celtics have certainly shared with the Cavs.  The Cavs know there's a risk -- no one was hiding that.  Pretty much as long as their doctor doesn't say "there's no way he's playing this year, he needs surgery tomorrow", I would expect the deal to go through.

It already went through, no matter what IT's health is they has to take it, that's the meaning of the Nets pick

Says who? Did you read this somewhere?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Nets pick is more valuable than an expiring, questionably healthy 5'9" PG.

the very article about IT seeing a specialist refers to IT as a member of the cavs. That means the trade went through.

How on earth do the Cavs miss IT's physical issues? He hit the deck against Cavs in playoffs and Ainge has been sleeping in the hallway outside Altman's office for 5 weeks since Kyrie asked out.

"What? You mean Thomas is hurt? When did this happen? He got injured playing in a basketball game against us?...How? This is madness!"

Altman knows the story...he made the deal because there weren't any other deals that looked good enough to cover him losing one of his big three. IT will rehab just like he never got traded and will play for the Cav's when the doc says so.

Altman got BRKN 18 and he got Crowder.
