He gets pounded finishing, this guys falls from height-remember his back injury
Every time he went down i was terrified and in awe of his ability to bounce back up-
that hip is an easy place to re injure
All the Brinks Truck promotion has backfired.
Danny  cleaned house--
Now Brad has some real talent to work with

Brad would have more "real talent" to work with had the trade not been made, of course.

And, Kyrie has to date been more fragile than IT, playing in 10 fewer games per season on average.

It will be interesting to see what Ante Zizic turns into. Thomas and Crowder are not going to be better than they have already been. To me, it comes down to the pIck.

Thomas played out of his mind last year. Feels like a sell high on him. Logic says Isaiah returns to earth and is hampered by height, hip or both longer term. Plus the pending FA situation.

Semi and Yabu need to step into Crowders spot now. Jae was excellent but we've got a lot of guys to fill that role now.

The contract and the track record for the small guards beyond year 30 didn't work in ITs favor. Kyrie is almost 4 years younger, better controled asset and so far has been able to endure 4 playoff series. Something we plan to do consecutive times. Lets not put aside all of Kyries better shooting and even defense with some success in the finals.
We have enough 2ndary ballhandlers in Al, Smart and Hayward along with Kyrie to substitute ITs playmaking workload.

Why is Kyrie better cost controlled?  Irving is making 12M more than IT this season.  Next season Irving will be making 20M.  I don't see any team giving IT a 4yr Max contract.  On a 4yr deal, I don't see him getting more than 25M.  The next off season Irving will be a free agent and almost certainly get a Max contract at 30M.

We save maybe $10 million next season, which is very helpful with the luxury tax. After that though it is all a wash.

I agree Rollie.  IT falls a lot and I've always worried he might not get back up.  Then where'd we be?

IT wasn't an accident.

We need to stop these threads throwing him under the bus.

I'm just hoping that Danny & Co. are going to do something special for IT (and Jae) when they return to BOS.

It's so easy to try and compare / contrast IT-Kyrie but for ME IT and JAE will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.

We were NOT supposed to be THIS GOOD as a Basketball team, don't forget that.

No one saw Jae becoming a starting SF and being coveted around the league - not only for his contract BUT also for his PLAY...

NO ONE (in our WILDEST DREAMS) could EVER predict that IT was going to EXPLODE like he did / has...

It is because of THESE TWO that we're where we at RIGHT NOW.....

Sure - Brad coached the max out of them, but they produced enough to entice Big Al, The Haymaker and NOW be enough of a package to get Kyrie....

IT was no accident. He was a BLESSING to this team AND to BASKETBALL...

He will get his Brinks, one way or the other.

I wish him(and Jae) well in CLE. We're going to have our hands full with them - no doubt.

You FINALLY got reunited with Kevin Love, IT. I wasn't with US but you got it. Your best days are ahead of you.

Alter that you're paying the max to Irving and not Thomas. Not really a wash.

This is such an important piece. I have gone from being stressed out that we are going to max out IT to being psyched that we are going to max out Irving.

I love IT and wish him only the best, but paying a player for what they have done rather than what they will do is always a mistake. I don't see IT falling off a cliff, but I don't really have any doubt who the better player will be in another year or two.

yup.....that injury does not fix itself .....it does not grow back together without surgery .  The pain and swelling goes away and the injury stablizes as is . .....   The hip will get irritated faster , as the damaged area is weaker.  You ll know when he is in pain ,   his shot will leave him .  He is tuff guy and will never complain.  Lebron can't have him sitting on the bench resting .  Thats Lebrons job  ;D
