Tatum is a rookie but a top 3 pick....in Dannys eye the best player of the draft. 90 percent of the time , these type of talents are good enough to start/make impact for teams in their 1st season. Add a 2nd year Jaylen Brown , plus Rozier with another year under his belt. Mix in solid vets like Baynes and even promising looking rookies like Semi (who can shoot the nba 3 right now/pick and pop/nba body).... I say the Celts have a top 5 bench right now.

Better than the Wizards, Cavs and could surpass an aging Warriors bench unit

I think the immediate goal with the current bench is to figure out how many of these guys are worth keeping.  By the trade deadline - assuming Danny thinks there's a chance of knocking off Golden State this season -  we're going to see a bench with a couple of vets in key role positions because you need that against good playoff teams.  Rookies are too unreliable.

Those role guys will probably be acquired through deals.

The Celtics top 9 are very good. The starters should be very good, and the first 4 off the bench should be very good. However, I am concerned about the last 6 on the roster. If the Celtics face injuries and a couple of the last 6 are pressed into the rotation I will be very nervous.

The C's will need one of Yabu, Semi, Nader, Theiss, Larkin and yet unsigned 15th man to step up this year.

The C's bench is no where near as good as the Cavs bench this season
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I missed the OP saying we would have a better bench than the Cavs. I agree with you here.
