Best outcome for Cleveland is probably to fire Lue, pay a top shelf coach, and trade Lebron to the Clippers or Kings.

Cleveland then needs to let the hangers-on fall away and replace them with young minutes sponges.

I'm not convinced they don't make the ECF with a rejuvenated Irving, resurrected Love, and guys like JR and Korver spreading the floor. They'd still have a shot, but might also bring back pieces to replace the old guys soon.

I see Phoenix as a perfect destination, and a perfect trade partner for Cleveland.

Eric Bledsoe, TJ Warren and pick/s for Kyrie.

Cleveland gets a good PG who would not mind becoming the 2nd/3rd fiddle to LeBron. And they get TJ Warren and pick/s. Phoenix adds Kyrie to their young core that is full of potential.

Yeah, it is one of the few that makes sense.  Those posting about Kyrie moving for someone like Melo are dreaming - that is an all-time NBA terrible trade.

The only way Kyrie moves for someone older and decaying like Melo is if it guarantees Lebron resigns, which of course it doesn't, because someone like that guarantees nothing in terms of wins.

Gilbert screwed himself by not resigning Griffin, at all costs.  He seemed like the only competent non-Lebron in the organization.  Now they are boxed in to shipping either Lebron or Kyrie likely for quarters on the dollar.

I love it.

Phoenix and Bledsoe is the perfect fit for a Kyrie trade. You get a very good vet PG that will slide into Kyrie's role easily and pick up some more young pieces and picks. Phoenix get a great young PG that will really fit their young core. Plus it has the added bonus of making Phoenix better, sliding the Lakers farther down the totem pole..

Bledsoe is hardly reliable for more than 55-60 games a year though right?

He would have played every game this year had they not shut him down for tanking purposes. Plus Irving has his own reliability issues..

Melo for Kyrie would be wild.

Basically puts NYK on a smarter rebuild and they get younger.

Cleveland rolls out LBJ/Love/Melo... an bigger offense to challenge GSW

The Celtics would crush a Melo/Love/LBJ squad.

Melo for Kyrie and Channing Frye works on trade machine...

...Lebron as the PG.

Irving wants out, it's over after LeBron leaves next season. You trade both Irving and Love for the best value you can acquire. Trading for Melo and watching both him and LeBron walk for nothing  would be pretty dumb.

Even if you ignore the impact on the team's reputation if they traded Lebron (which would be huge), he has a no trade clause
I'm bitter.

Rumor is:

CLE-NY-PHX 3-Way

CLE gets both Melo and Bledsoe, Phx gets Frank and other picks.

Hmm. Didn't realize he had been back long enough to get a NTC.

They're not winning with Lue. Period.

And Lebron is older and leaving anyway. Irving/Love is okay because KL wants to be #2. So it's like fragging lieutenants: everyone else moves up. And they could bring back pieces to contend for a long time sans Lebron. It's the best move. Plus getting out from under TT's contract.

I guess LeBron really is the GM if that goes down. He'll get the last laugh when he goes to LA next summer.

If Kyrie wants out this summer...

then Boston will be in the NBA Finals this upcoming season.

Cavs are not winning with Kyrie and Love. They'll even lose to the Wizards in a 7-game series. That's how bad they will be without LeBron James.

For the Cavs to acquire Anthony, Bledsoe, and Chandler they have to give up a lot of salary. Way more than just Irving and Frye. But a starting 5 of Bledsoe, Rose, James, Anthony, and Love with guys like Korver, Chandler, and Thompson on the bench is probably a better team than they have now

2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Also Jr Smith and Thompson? Then they are gutting their team and ending up with a worse one... unless we are pretending Chandler hasn't calcified.

Huh? Lol

They'd go from "poor D" to "sweet baby Jesus that's some poor D." They might as well not even try to defend, because that roster would be absolutely atrocious with three of the worst defenders per their position just in the starting lineup.
