Baynes will probably get in the games before Zizic.

Much as I like Zizic, and I think he may have a decent future in the NBA, there is no way he can be considered a backup NBA center just yet.  He is very raw, lacks conditioning, is only learning NBA rules now.  It really surprises me that people think he could be 1st center off the bench right off the bat after watching SL.  He's just not ready.

Baynes without a doubt. Zizic probably won't be that guy until next season.

Baynes is going to start.

not sure about this.... i think it will be Horford and Morris

but Baynes likely 1st one off the floor.   Zizic maybe takes on the Zeller role for next season

Baynes is going to start.
Against some teams I think he will, like SAS with Pau and LaMarcus (barring they move one/both of them).

But Al can get exploited by fast 4's, which is why I think Morris will have to start some.

Zizic will only be first off the bench if Baynes is already starting or injured.

Baynes is going to start.

Depends on the matchup.
Yup. If the other team has two perimeter bigs Morris will start and Baynes will come off the bench and if the other team only has one perimeter big Morris will start and Baynes will come off the bench. If in the weird case the other team has no perimeter bigs Morris will still start and Baynes will come off the bench because the team will feed Morris on the outside as their mismatch.

Wait....maybe the matchups don't matter.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
If all goes as planned, Zizic will have Baynes' 2017-18 role in 2018-19. The Cs and Baynes have signed themselves up for a mutually beneficial relationship for the upcoming season.

EDIT - I do not think Baynes will start (or that Zizic will start in 18-19).

Baynes is going to start.

That's what I think as well. He will fit well next to Horford.
