The worst part is that the kid doesn't even know just how bad it is. What star free agent would ever choose SLC as his top destination? Also, even if the Jazz are able to draft a top level rookie, this is just fuel for the fire that he will leave at his first opportunity. If they can't keep a guy like Hayward, who can they keep?
And I understand that winning cures all, but I don't see it getting much better than a Hayward/Gobert combo. And it's not like the Jazz are in any position to be venturing into luxury tax land year after year.
They really need a Lebron James (hometown superstar) miracle and it's not like that worked out ideally for the Cavs. 2 [of 3] James Championships came with another team.
