Poll: Pick one player to Start, Jae or Smart

 I don't like these two starting together. Smart is already used to the bench role Heavy minutes ultimate Swiss army knife role I say let's not change things.

 Jae is proud, very solid, looks a little silly calling out Hayward, so let him start at least for a while and Let's lock down the chemistry between Thomas, Brown, Hayward this year.

 The eventual scoring punch of this future lineup is inspiring.

Smart. We have enough scoring from the big 3 that we just need a defensive patch at the 2, especially to hide IT on D. IT ranks near last in many defensive metrics. Smart is perfect.

Don't like either option, but I'd prefer Smart over Crowder starting. I'm highly skeptical of Hayward playing the 2 full-time OR Crowder playing the 4 full-time, and I think Smart's versatile defense would be beneficial to that group with IT and Hayward making up for the scoring/shooting deficiencies of Smart.

I still think Brown is the ideal choice to start - IT, Brown, Hayward, Morris, and Horford with Rozier, Smart, Crowder, Tatum, and Baynes filling out the bench minutes.

 I was high on Trading Crowder, but now that he's here. I actually want him to feel loved right now, and I can be ruthless. That said I'd go with someone else if another player emerges. Cough Tatum.

Agreed.  I don't think Jaylen is ready for full-time, but might as well throw him in.  Kinda worried about Tatum developing quicker and that hurting his confidence, too.  So might as well.

I would start smart because in the past he really did great slas a starter, and hr publicly said that it's really hard to get into rhythm off the bench. But that most likely will not happen. I am fine with any line up that does not feature crowder as our starting "4", cause he cant guard anyone bigger than him, while smart can.
The other favorite lineup would feature one on the brown/tatum.
The most fun lineup to watch would be horford, tatum, hayward, brown, smart.

Figure Horford, Hayward and Thomas are the three starters who get their names written down in ink.  Write the other two names in pencil until things shake out, because those spots will probably be matchup dependent early on.

I agree with this though if Smart starts he will probably get a lot of minutes as he will also have a role in the second unit. Even with Rozier, I think Smart plays big minutes if you go that way.

I would bet money it's probably going to start out with GH at the 2 and Jae at the 3. I'll say it again, I would like to see the lineup be IT4, JB, GH, MM, Horford. I really don't see it happening because Jae isn't coming off the bench without a problem but we will have to wait and see. The only way it isn't GH/SG Jae/SF is if there is an injury.
