We don't have a player as explosive as a scorer as Gerald.
Still, this was expected as the Celtics need the cap space.
I hope he lands where he can get some minutes.
Loved having him back here!
With all the money going around.
He deserves more than vet minimum.
Good teammate. Good person.  Love the "stay ready"

This is a bit sad for me.

The first year I started following the Celtics intently was the 2006-2007 season.with Paul Pierce out for most of the year and with myself having little to no understanding of what actually made a player great, I saw Gerald's athelticism, size and 3 point stroke and fell in love. He was my first favorite player.

When I saw the headline that we traded for KG, I immediately scanned the list of names traded looking for one name only(note: despite being like 10 years old I was still aware that this trade was an unbelievable trade even if we were losing my favorite player).

every time he came available for the next decade I would hope we could take a flier on him and when we brought him in last year I was excited to have him back. While over the 10 year absence is grown to hate his game and understand that his iq was stunningly low, I was still excited to have my first favorite player back in green and Gerald seemed to feel the same way about his return.

He completely bought in braided a shamrock in his hair, mentored the kids and even played the role of an x-factor in the playoffs.

I had hoped he would return for another season but the NBA is a business and Ainge obviously feels there are better directions to go.

I'm sure Gerald will bounce around the NBA and join his 9th and 10th NBA teams in the next few years, but for me he will always be a Celtic and the guy who caught my eye with a slam dunk and made me love basketball and the Celtics.

Are you really only 17 years old?
21.

Ah, that makes more sense.

That's nice.

I really hate that word "renounce".  Especially when talking about Gerald Green.   :'(

He should join the Pelicans...who have the big man defense to cover for him and they might have Rondo to feed him the ball.

Rondo, Holiday, Green, Cousins, Davis
