I think the idea behind this thread is probably to start the most similar player to Bradley that we have on the roster. While I have seen Rozier's ceiling as an Avery Bradley type with the ability to penetrate, I think we now have better options.
I personally like the idea of Brown getting the nod, but the IT/Hayward/Crowder/Morris/Horford line-up is probably the most likely. As SL mentioned, it is possible Stevens subs Baynes in for Morris to start, but only in a Bogut (with GSW) or Amir-like role.
Yeah you pretty much nailed my thought process.
The issue is really that IT sucks at defense so you want to put someone next to him who can help out on ballhandlers. Obviously Marcus is by far the best option there, but I don't think we can afford to leave the second unit in the hands of Terry Rozier.
So it comes down to Brown, Hayward and Terry at the 2.
I would go with Brown, but if we get to camp and Brad decides that Terry is ahead of Brown defensively, I could see Rozier picking up some surprise starts. I just don't like the idea of Hayward guarding 2s and I don't like the idea of leaving our second unit without anyone capable of running an offense.
Like I wrote in my OP, I'd probably put brown there first and I'd also rotate Hayward up to the 2 before I started Rozier and I'd even probably elelvate Marcus into the starting lineup too.
I just thought TRo could be an interesting AB replacement and might be able to do a nice job if you really stripped down the game for him and told him his first and second focus would he defense his 3rd and 4th would be attacking the glass.
An offense with Thomas Hayward Horford and either Morris or crowder doesn't need a ton of offense from the 2 guard spot.
