Odeleye and Nader are by no means locks for the roster.

I would be very, very surprised if Ojeleye is not on the roster.  Non-international second-rounders taken 31-40, virtually always make the roster immediately after being drafted, and typically have multiple years of salary guaranteed.

Nader is much more likely to get a two-way contract this year.  I expect Jackson keeps his roster spot.

Where does this knowledge come from?

Contracts for 2nd round picks don't have restrictions.  They're not subject to the rookie scale, no requirements regarding guaranteed money.  Affords some flexibility.

The new 2-way contracts could theoretically be used for Jabari Bird and Kadeem Allen as the 16th and 17th roster spots.

Ojeleye is more likely to make the roster than Yabusele IMO.  More athletic, more versatile defender, equal or better shooter, mature game.  Yabusele could get stashed for another year.  Nader is on the bubble.

I haven't seen the details on Theis' contract, but I assume it's near league minimum, so not really a consideration.  It feels like Danny has 1 deal left to make, maybe unloading Mickey and/or Jackson for 2nd round picks?

Mickey has to be released to sign Tatum, unless there is another trade.
I thought Mickey's contract was guaranteed.  Yeah, I guess we just waive him if it's not.

It guarantees on Saturday.  Presumably the Celtics are trying to make a trade up until the last minute.

I got bored one evening when I couldn't sleep and looked back at the past half-dozen drafts or so.  The rewards of insomnia?

Or Theis.  We could well end up with a couple more veterans (I'd love to see JJ and GG back), with Ojeleye and Nader on two way contracts.

Isn't Odeleye a Beck album?

Theis has one year guaranteed, so I'd consider him a lock.

Curious. Why do the three first posters wrote Ojeleye wrong?

I knew it (TP anyway for your search  ;D ), but the writing isn't even close.

Oops.  I spelled it wrong in the initial post.  The next couple of posters probably just copied my spelling.

Apologies.

I'd be fine with that group with Landen Lucas and Kadeem Allen on the two-way contracts.

Let's see in the pre-season.

Unlike some people here, I have no fascination with Nader. I don't think he's an NBA caliber scorer and is putrid on D. Semi and Allen are the guys I'd like to keep if Mickey and Jackson are cut.

Stevens just said in a SL interview that Semi is doing the things he'll be asked to do for them during the season.

So unless something changes between now and then, Semi has at least one foot in that door.

From the way Stevens was talking about him, it sounds like he's a lock for the roster and he might even get minutes.

Agree on Nader.  Seems like a not so talented ball hog too.

I agree, he doesn't pass much and puts a lot of shots up near the rim that miss badly. I think he regressed between this SL and last, and I'd much prefer Semi. Maybe even DJax, for PG insurance.
