I watched a few of his SL games and I think we dodged a bullet with out the ankle sprain and I am glad we took Tatum.   Fultz produces and has some skills but largely empty stats that do not lead to wins.  In the game vs. us he deferred to other players in crunch time while Tatum stepped us and showed the clutch gene.   Philly has some talent but they have a lot of guys who do not know how to win.  That is why they got Amir and JJ to try to show them, I suppose.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at such nonsense.  Summer league doesn't matter and summer league stats are all empty.  Fultz did fine and against us he made a good drive to attempt a game winning layup but it got blocked.  They got JJ for his shooting and Amir is just a veteran big to eat some minutes and they were willing to accept one year contracts.  If the Sixers win it will be because Embiid stays healthy.  With Embiid, they'll be a top 10 defense and top 10 defensive teams usually make the playoffs.

It's Philly so he should sit out the first season or two just to be safe.

Dodge a bullet due to a sprained ankle? No, that's getting a little too excited.

Some C's fans feel the need to justify the 1 for 3 trade by somehow bringing down Fultz in the process. Let's just be satisfied that Tatum looks really great so far and that the trade, at bare minimum, wasn't a bust. Fultz is going to be a good player; Tatum is going to be a good player. It's all good.

So far (all of 4 games into SL), it looks like we neither dodged a bullet nor took one.   Fultz looks great and so does Tatum.   The Sixers have very scary  potential with Embiid, Simmons and Fultz.  All 3 COULD be better (potentially) than any current Celtic.   If they all achieve... watch out for Philly. Saric also has game and Okafor has skills. That irritant JJ Reddick will hit a lot of shots for them this year.  I think Sixers are easily a playoff team if healthy.

For now, Tatum is more of what the Dr. ordered for the Cs than I think Fultz would have been (probably would be singing a different tune if we'd picked Fultz).   Tatum's readiness just seems to be in evidence, most importantly his ability to create his own space and hit mid-range shots - and rebound.   Of course, both Fultz and JT are untested against the real NBA so time will tell.

If we had drafted Fultz, these would be the lead threads right now:

"Danny takes another injury-prone guard"

"Fultz injury: they said KG would be out two weeks too!"

"Should we pick up 3rd year option on injury-prone Fultz?"

"I sprained my ankle once and was never the same"

"Fultz: the definitive proof Danny can't draft"

"Bad decisions: why have your #1 pick play in Summer League?"

"Chase-down blocks: career-killer?"
