Deny deny deny

But who’s telling the truth?
At this point I don’t care anymore.. we got Hayward, Tatum, Morris.. I think we did fine this offseason.

Maybe he didn’t make the offer because PG says no extension no way no how.
Play to win.  Always.

Lol then why did Pritchard accept OKC's offer and not wait until post July 4. And then hearing about Pritchard not wanting to help Eastern Conference rivals.

Ah wellz.

Weird.

Every report has said the opposite.

I wonder if he's toying with the words here. Like maybe Ainge didn't make that offer but said, "This will be the offer after we sign Hayward," so Pritchard is trying to save face after a bad deal by saying the offer wasn't technically made.

Probably that or the offer was slightly different than reported, but not enough that any sane person would have selected it over the OKC package.

It's super weird.

It does seem totally possible that the Celtics never made an offer.

The Celtics have repeatedly claimed that they couldn't create trades for stars with massive offers in the past two years only to watch players like Cousins, Butler and George get traded for 25 cents on the dollar. It's hard for me to believe that the Celtics are actually making these offers because it requires that every team they discuss trades with would prefer getting less value for their players than dealing with the Celtics.

George seems the most obvious case of this since Pritchard was ostensibly trading just a 1 year rental of a star who had made it clear he was going to sign with LA.

Mind you, I'm not criticizing the direction the Celtics went I'm just suggesting that the reports that get leaked to the media of these massive trade proposals being rebuffed are most likely smokescreens from the Celtics to take pressure off of management.  Thematically these stories always serve to make the Celtics look like victims of their own success while making the other team's GM's look like fools who continually take the worst offer available.

The actual trade that Pritchard made makes him look like a fool not the rumors...Look what Flip Sanders got for LOVE... Flip waited...

Ainge probably said something like "We could offer x y z".   Not an offer. Not buying Pritchard's point here

Pritchard also said that he and Presti used to both work together.

Funny thing about offers and trades is that they work both ways.

So if Pritchard would have accepted Bradley + Crowder + 3 non-Brooklyn, non-Lakers 1sts from the C's, then why didn't Pritchard offer that to Danny?

Sounds like he just admitted to not being a good GM to me.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Pritchard sulked in the corner all night waiting for Ainge to ask him to dance.

Pritchard just trying to save face.  If he actually wanted the deal he's got a telephone as well.

So Boston never made an offer, Indy never accepted it and Boston never said we will only do the trade after we settle the Hayward free agency.

You know this isn't too far from what reports said. Woj reported that Indy wanted Smart, Crowder and 3 non Brk/LA picks but Boston wanted to wait. Woj never mentioned an offer from Boston just what Indy wanted. Lowe then reported that the teams had discussion about 3 players and 2 picks or 2 players and three picks. He again never mentioned an offer, just that the teams had discussions.

So what Pritchard is saying here could be true and correspond with reports.

I think the Celtics interest in PG was always overblown. Why draft Tatum if yourr committing to PG long term

A) because if you have the chance to get Paul George, nothing else really matters.

B) there was a chance that they wouldn't get George. Or Hayward, for that matter.
