By moving Bradley, I believe we have the cap room to bring Yabu over. I think he will be a solid rotation player at worst.

But semi looks like a very similar player.

Who would have the bigger contract?

We could keep control over Yabu for an extra year if he stays overseas.

According to a league source, the plan has always been for Guerschon Yabusele to be on the Celtics' roster in the fall.

I don't know if Yabu can contribute next season.  I do know he was way bettter in last year's summer league at age 19 than Semi is now at age 22.

We can have both. Yabu will get his scale salary, while Ojeleye can get either the minimum or whatever is left of the cap space after the Hayward signing. What he can't get is the money Yabu is getting, since removing Yabu's hold before the start of the season would require Yabu to agree to it, which I find very unlikely.

Personally, I'd rather have Yabu here (and don't care either way about Ojeleye). We took him at #16 for a reason, and now it's time to give him a chance to show us what he can do. Playing in China for another year won't teach him anything
I'm bitter.

They are very different physically. Yabu weighs 35 pounds more than Semi -270 to 235 - at roughly the same height. While Yabu moves well for a player that heavy, it's not the same thing as moving well. You don't want him switching on the perimeter. And now he has a foot injury. Dancing on 270 pounds is not a recipe for a long and successful career. I honestly won't be surprised if he never plays in the NBA.

Semi,, on the other hand, has the potential to become a more explosive J Crowder.

Give Yabu Zizic's spot.
That guy is terrible.

I wish we were stashing Yabu 1 more year. I think he's gonna be a big-time project, and we already are relying on a number of inexperienced guys to fill bench spots. If we have any frontcourt injuries I think we are in trouble if we have to play Zizic or Yabu.

Semi is listed at 6'7". Watching them, Yabu just moves differently. He looks like a D lineman - so much inertia. Amazing he's as nimble as he is.

One more comparison - Jared Sullinger is listed at 6'9", 260.

Semi had a good game, but still "deer in the headlights" look from him.  Yabu has a certain confidence I find appealing.  He is bigger than Semi yet can shoot from 3.  C's are deep with SF-sized players (Crowder, Hayward, Morris, Tatum).

If we are thinking of old school positions rather than wings and bigs Yabu seems like a true PF(maybe slightly undersized height wise).  Semi seems much more of a SF who can play PF like Crowder.

Semi is ripped but not massive like Yabu.
