I think they should retire his number before the season starts with these classic performances.

His moves are definitely crazy for a 19 year old.  As someone who loves post moves I am loving watching him.

they way he kisses the ball off the glass reminds you of soft touch shooters like Scottie Pippen and Tim Duncan.

I wanted Fultz. I didn't cry when the trade was made (search for it) but I did wonder a bit at Ainge's approach. After all, that trade could be the deal that defines Ainge as a mastermind or a moron GM.

But I've been high on Tatum for quite a while. Still, right now that kid looks amazing and better than anyone could expect. Like "shake my head and wonder if we just drafted the next superstar" kind of good. I'm not prepared to go overboard in my expectations but currently he looks simply awesome.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

ha ha ha...dont fret about going overboard on summer league. i am always preaching "be patient" and "SL" but tatum is worth getting excited over. i like watching him play. he is one of the few celtics, right now, whom i expect to score when he gets the ball.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

He was leading the rookie ladder before tonight's game:

http://www.nba.com/article/2017/07/08/kia-rookie-ladder-boston-celtics-jayson-tatum-impressive-start

Quote
1.      Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Not merely the best rookie in Salt Lake City, Tatum was one of the best players at any experience level, averaging 18.7 points and 9.7 rebounds while shooting 46.8 percent in three games. That put him fourth in scoring and second on the boards. The Celtics were off Friday, but Tatum, the third pick in the draft, will be right back in the spotlight Saturday against the Lakers and Lonzo Ball, the second selection, even if they won’t be matched up.

Didn't hurt himself tonight. No HOF yet, but he's been the best rookie in the summer leagues pretty easily despite not having a good PG on his squad.

I think people have a reason to be optimistic about Tatum, he has played better than the guys picked ahead of him.

I was scared that we were going to pick Jackson after we made the move, but picking up JT has been a golden move.

It is good to be reminded that the kid has a long way to go. Tatum gets compared to Pierce but Pierce entered the league as a 21 year old. I think Tatum will be better than Pierce at the same age of 21 because of NBA experience, but he isn't there right now. You can see all the potential, but I doubt seriously that Tatum will be an effective player as a teenager.

I acutally expect him to be really good really fast because he is going to be playing with IT , GH and AH..
as a 4th option he will be awesome when he is in with the big boys..

And playing against 2nd unit guys with smart, Brown and Rozeir should be okay with him as well.. He has elite scoring Talent.

He is in the perfect place.

Tatum looks very good, but Fultz has hardly been a bust... 20 ppg in 24 mins, 46% from 3. A LOT of moves that look like they will translate. I'd say based on what he's done in SL we'd also be feeling good right now if DA had picked Fultz..

Still, if Tatum shows as well in the NBA as he is doing now, *and* we get a top pick next year as a bonus, this goes down as a fantastic decision by DA. Rank it just below the Nets trades.
