The trial itself most likely won't impact the season. Any potential sentence and accompanying suspension could.
Let's say worst case scenario, they go to trial and are found guilty. That's a 10 game suspension, which would suck. But jail time for guys with minor records and a strong support system would likely be negligible, especially since there have been no bail violations. At worst, I'm thinking a 3 year sentence, with the vast majority suspended contingent upon probation. Any jail time would probably be stayed until next summer.
More realistically, this probably gets pled down to a misdemeanor and the victim gets a monetary settlement.
