With starter AB in the process of being shipped out, who do you guys see as the two wing starters for the Celtics?  Hayward will be one obviously, but who among Crowder, Jaylen, Smart, and maybe Tatum do you expect to start alongside him at either the 2 or 3?

Personally, I'm tempted to try Jaylen at the 2 or Tatum at the 3.  Jaylen scored in double digits during his stretch at 2 last year and rebounds well for the position, and I'd like to give him some burn.  And Tatum looks like our 3rd best scorer now, and his defense and rebounding look solid.

I understand Crowder might be the other starter, but I really hope 7-11 get plenty of minutes.

I think Brown wins the starting spot.

You're not going to start Hayward at the 2 unless you want to be beaten by every guard who can walk and chew gum.

I'm concerned if Marcus starts in that lineup, his lack of shooting would jeopardize the ability of the other guys to get good looks when the defense ignores him.

Conversely, I like him as the primary ball-handler on the second unit ensuring that Rozier, Crowder and 1 of JB/JT get looks when they're open.

So I'd flip Smart/GH for GH/Tatum to ensure all our starters can shoot, or swap Smart for Jaylen in the starting lineup for athleticism and to let Smart anchor the 2nd unit.

Brown still has the rest of the off-season to work on his game and prepare to win the starting job at SG.

Not sure how you can say that, considering the lineups he most often played in this year.  Ingles is also a SF, Hood is another 6'8" wing and Joe Johnson is a now slow SG/SF.

It puzzles me a little that Avery is gone but Jae is still here. It was obvious to me that Jae was the odd man out. Now does that mean there is something else that will take place that includes Jae?

The difference is that the Jazz had George Hill at PG, and could just play defense and not micromanage their schemes to hide someone. Also, Rodney Hood is a 205 lbs SG. I don't think Hayward was seeing any time on guards defensively in these lineups.

I think we run with:

Ball-handlers: Thomas/Rozier
Wings: Brown/Smart (I prefer Marcus in this role vs. ball-handler)
Swings: Hayward/Crowder/Tatum/Nader
Bigs: Horford/Morris/Zizic/Ojeleye

Nope. The only two bigs on the roster are Horford and Zizic. Hence the total and complete logjam that we still need to deal with.

Marcus is also a ball handler, have to add him to that category as well.

Add both Yabu and Theis as a swing and big.

Joe Ingles usually defended the opposing SG.  Or Rodney Hood when he was healthy and starting.  Hayward very rarely defended guards.  Joe Johnson almost exclusively defended forwards, usually the PF.

How about Tatum at the 2?
