Please answer this question. How much exactly are we talking about half a million? 1 million, 2 million, how much less than the max would Hayward have to accept to make the whole team return plus him.

What do you mean by the whole team? If you're including Olynyk, something like $10M+ per year. If you're including Rozier, something like $3M+ per year. If you're not including Rozier and Jackson, only about $300k per year.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

He's accepting the max. That's what we promised already. He took a $44 mill paycut already to switch teams, he did his favor already. Its over.

Exactly Tp. By whole team I mean I want to keep Avery, Crowder, Smart, Dump Rozier and Jackson. I think it's silly if the player went accept 300k this year to make the team stronger.

He doesn't even need to accept a discount in that case. Sorry to further confuse things, but if we acquire him via S&T, he can get the FULL max and we can give up just Rozier, Jackson, and Mickey. This article should answer any questions you might have about that:

I must be confused... He wants the 3 + 1 so He can get the super Bonus after his 10th year...
Is that still considered the Max?

No he does not want it.   He wants to make All NBA his third year with us to get Super Max.  Thats 10 years total in the league and 3 from now.  His last real shot at the biggest pay day of his life.

Utah would give us a pick.   Because they are most likely to get a big trade exception too.

None of you have any idea what he wants.  Stop pretending that you do.

No he actually does know what he's talking about. After ten years regardless if he makes first team all NBA. He would make more.

After 10 years he can get the super macho max. It's pretty macho. And that fourth year player option is just in case of injury.

This is all correct. The "super max" is a reference to the absolute maximum any NBA player can make (35% of the cap). ALL 10+ year veterans (Gordie in 3 years) are eligible for this "super max," regardless of awards.

(assuming we stash Yabu and dump Rozier-Jackson for future pick(s)/salary relief)

1. Horford $27,734,405
2. Bradley $8,808,989
3. Crowder $6,796,117
4. Thomas $6,261,394
5. Tatum $5,645,400
6. Brown $4,956,480
7. Smart $4,538,019
8. Zizic $1,645,200
9. rookie minimum $815,615
10. rookie minimum $815,615
11. rookie minimum $815,615
12. rookie minimum $815,615

Total : $69,648,464

The league set the salary cap for the upcoming campaign at $99,093,000.

$99,093,000 - $69,648,464 = $29,444,536 available in cap space

That's $283,364 short of Hayward's max ($29,727,900).

I hope we catch a break. Rozier is a good backup 1/2 and is on a good contract. Keeping Smart, AB, and Crowder for other trades not involving Hayward is pretty important to get the team we want w/o giving a huge asset.
