I'd rather go after Green and TA from Memphis as better fits for what we need and money wise.

If we can make it work, then YES PLEASE.
Big with an outside shot. If he can stay on the court I think this puts us ahead of Cleveland in the East.

How can it work? We dont have enough salary to match

Unless we trade for trade exceptions?

Anyone can provide insight..

We can't use trade exceptions, because even if he had a giant one big enough to trade for Gasol, The C's would've had to rescind their rights to it in order to sign Hayward. TEs count against the cap.

The only feasible way for this to work would be a Gasol for Horford trade.

As others said, we can make it work by trading away Crowder, Smart, and Bradley after we sign Haward. We would also move someone before signing Hayward to make room, so we would totally deplete our bench, and then hopefully refill it with vet min contracts and rookie deals.

I really hope that we hang onto Smart. He is our dog out there who's attitude cannot be replaced. Plus I don't trust ITs health. Smart stepped up and beat The Cavs in Cleveland. Let any combination of Bradley, Crowder, and Rozier go. Jaylen looks like he is ready to step up.

Can Boston and Memphis involve a third team that is under the salary cap, so that the salaries don't have to match perfectly? I would hate to have to give up both Bradley and Smart. I would prefer to trade Crowder, along with one of Bradley or Smart, and non 2018 future draft picks.

Smart, Bradley and Crowder.  Has more perimeter defense ever been traded out in a single trade
in the history of the NBA?

If we have to trade all 3 of Crowder/Bradley/Smart, why not justuse all of that to go after a younger, more athletic player like AD? Trade all 3 players plus Bkn 2018 and another 1st

If you were the GM of the Pelicans, would you accept that offer?

Nope because Boston can't take in Gasol's salary without giving up a certain amount (x and x*1.25 = Gasol's 22+ million).  So a third team could be found, but all that would do is take away things from Memphis, not allow Boston to hang onto any additional players.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

One more question, since the Celtics renounced Kelly Olynyk's rights, then I assume he can't be used as part of a sign and trade?

Crowder, Smart and D. Jackson for Gasol checks out on RealGM's trade checker.  I'd sign off on that deal and send some  future picks to Memphis as part of the deal as well.

That works in a vacuum, but it works counter to signing Hayward. We have to clear salary, not add it.

Love Gasol coming here. That would really put LeBronin a tough spot as the Celtics would finally have a rim defender. Maybe Tony Allen would follow and sign the Vet minimum.

And lastly, I wanted to take a day off of CB, because the last 3 weeks have been insane, and now Gasol rumors start.

No way I give up Crowder, Bradley and Smart. That just kills the C's bench and depth

Starting unit would be solid, but bench would be thinner than an A list actress.
