Let's expound upon the Brad Stevens effect. Give Ainge credit for finding the right guy. Give that guy credit for what he's done.

Stevens showed that he can put people in roles that can make them successful. He made Jordan Crawford look good. He made Evan Turner $70m. He's helped put guys like Crowder and Bradley in successful roles. He took IT and designed a system around him that made him an NBA All-Star. His good coaching created an environment of hard work and success.

That environment got Al Horford via FA - not to mention the presentation by Brad on how he'd use Al in the Boston system. That got the Cs to the ECF. That success - and his prior personal relationship - just brought the team Gordon Hayward. Without that success and without him being a great, respected and personable coach we don't get Hayward. Now we're as good as anyone else not named Golden State.
