I think the Celtics will get Hayward.

I think Ainge has to move Crowder at that point. I would think about doing a S & T with the Nuggets for Kenneth Faried.

Crowder and Celtics 2018 #1 for Faried.

We still have to solve the rebounding issue and he will help.

They can get Faried for less than that. Denver is trying to unload him. They need a banger, but I doubt they think so.

TP for the OP.

I had this thought exactly as soon as I heard about the Millsap signing last night. Denver has been disappointed with Faried for years now and he's officially the odd man out. While he's never panned out to be the player they had hoped he'd become, he's maintained his ability to rebound and run and that fits our needs. I think we know what we're getting with him at this point and I'd be happy with him playing 25 mpg to help with our rebounding deficits.

Faried is at $12M and Crowder at $6M...the #1 pick may get them there salary wise. It's not a premium pick that could even make this team next year.

Faried would take a lot of pressure off Horford and Faried doesn't need the ball.

He's better than Amir.  This would mean we run it back with essentially the same roster except:

Amir ---> Faried
Zeller ---> Zizic
Green ---> Tatum
Mickey ---> Semi

Picks count as $0 for salary matching purposes. We would need to add like $3 million in outgoing salary to make it work, which would be something like Smart
I'm bitter.

Crowder has far more market value right now than Faried. I'm in favor of obtaining Faried, but it will have to be in a good deal that benefits the Celtics longterm.

Sign and trade with KO and Crowder should work.

Assuming we sign Hayward, it's highly likely we 'll let Kelly walk.

I think the only way to do this would be to trade Rozier to Houston for 4 mil in their expiring contracts, then combine those contracts with Mickey and Crowder. Crowder, Mickey, Jackson for Faried does not work in the trade machine, plus the Nuggets are trying to shed salary to sign Hill. It kinda makes sense though for all teams. Houston is going to need guard depth behind Paul, Harden and Gordon. Rozier would be a nice combo guard off the bench for them. Denver sheds 6 mil in salary and gets Crowder, they are going to need some SF depth. We get a rebounding big(ish?) that could slide right in to the starting line up and not demand too many touches from Thomas or Hayward. I would be in favor of this.

faried doesnt fit our team at all, also an overrated defender...
rather keep crowder and his great contract
