I'd be happy with either Hayward, or Millsap, or a trade for a comparable max-worthy player via using our cap space, because if we don't use that cap space now, it'll be a disaster of a wasted asset.

Really I just want us to pick a direction. Competing now and later is all well and good, as long as you are competing now. An ECF appearance isn't "competing now" if you lose 4/5 by 25-30 points against a team that is clearly superior to you. Signing GH is great but pretty much everyone agrees that it doesn't get you past the Cavs. What it does do is further exacerbate a wing glut. All of a sudden we have Bradley, Crowder, Smart, Jaylen, Tatum, Hayward competing for minutes at the 2-4. One, preferably two of those guys probably needs to go to open up developmental minutes for Tatum and Brown. Otherwise you are wasting an opportunity to develop them in order to win now, which you aren't doing. If we get Hayward then fine, trade someone in that group and move forward getting young guys playing time and 2-3 rounds of playoff experience every year. If you don't get Hayward blow it up.

Hayward ideally. Perhaps Gallinari as a consolation prize.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

So, that rant aside if we miss out on Heyward, how about Anthony? He only has 2 years left on his contract, can still fill it up, can play some PF. Ya, he's on the older side but two years seems like a perfect length to bring him in here, groom our young guys without locking a player ahead of them for the year 4 years at max money. He's make us the clear cut #2 seed in the East.

Hayward + Tatum + the Lakers and Nets not picking up any difference makers.

This. At this point, it's Hayward or bust.

If no Hayward, blow it up for all I care. No interest in running this inherently flawed team back once again. Get us three chances at top picks next year. I'm only half joking at this point, too. Sad!

Prepare for it, Isaiah means this team sells tickets and makes the playoffs, and that'll be good enough while the team still has plenty of young talent to pitch as the future of the franchise.

If we passed on Cousins, there's no way we take Carmelo.

I will be happy if DA only makes additions that take us forward. Obviously an addition like Hayward does this. I don't think Melo, given his age and the loss of young talent we would need to clear to help make him fit, takes the team forward.

Without a player of Hayward's stature the least the team needs is another scoring option. This may seem a contradiction to my Melo comment, as he would give the team that option. I would be looking younger though and I am sure DA and Stevens have players in mind that the media and fans may not have high on their lists.

Worst case scenario we added Tatum which should help us.

I am hoping for Hayward and one big that was not on the team last year.   We need scoring and a decent big that is not eating himself out of the league.

I don't want either one, but Cousins is BY FAR a worse cancer.  Having played with him, I am sure IT got in Danny's ear.  There's no other explanation to pass up on a guy that addresses ALL the team's needs, and was available for spare parts.

Anyway, Melo is staying in NY near his kid.  He has no reason to waive his no-trade clause.

If we sign Hayward and land Carmelo (somehow) without giving up much assets, I'd be happy. It just might be enough to dethrone the Cavs. If we had PG, id say we would've been the faves to come out of the East.

Before all the PG13 stuff came up, initial goal was ro get Hayward. It still is the goal. Cs with Hayward are a much better team. AND they still have the chips to make a trade if they want to.

PG13 would have been cherry on top if they landed GH.

Hayward or nothing. Let Tatum develop.

We have to get Hayward now. All of our eggs are in one basket. If we don't get Hayward I don't know who we get for max. I would hate to throw big money at a mediocre free agent just to use the cap space. We need Hayward and would love to fill our bench with a few vets like Bogut, Tony Allen even Vince Carter.

Let's say we get Hayward. If no other free agent is signed, what are the chances IT gets extended?

Sign Hayward then flip AB and Crowder for a top PF. After that feel we are set for the season.

IT, Brown, Hayward, X, Horford
Rozier, Smart, Tatum, Theis, Zizic
