32,33,34 - he's going to make $120m. If his health doesn't hold up, it's going to be one of the worst contracts ever.

plus his under armour deal and other endorsements, that man is going to be very rich

now in 2-3 years, their cap is going to be super tight if they wish to extend Green and Thompson

Yes but dont expect Durant to take a discount next

Curry couldnt take 35 million a year instead?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
For a guy who should be making the max 3 years ago, but only making $11 million, this is worth every penny.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

Except that Durant has already made clear a willingness to accept a discount if necessary. Durant's been playing on the max for 6 years and has a $300M contract with Nike. There's a slight difference between that and Curry's situation (not that Curry is exactly strapped for cash).

The Larry Bird exception allows teams to exceed the salary cap to re-sign their own free agents, at an amount up to the maximum salary. To qualify as a Bird free agent, a player must have played three seasons without being waived or changing teams as a free agent.

There is no hard cap in the NBA. So you can have several max players if your owner is willing to pay a luxury tax.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Per year I suppose.  But a couple of deals in baseball may have been bigger overall.
