CBS Sports is reporting that Blake Griffin's camp and the Boston Celtics may be working on getting a free agent meeting to discuss a potential signing.

According to CBS Sports, there is some sort of struggle or obstacle in the way between the two sides, and it may be hindering them from setting up a face to face meeting.

Any thoughts?

Here is Jay King's explanation:

"The Boston Celtics have had a tricky time nailing down a meeting with free agent Blake Griffin because of clashing priorities, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
The source told MassLive.com Friday afternoon that Griffin is said to prefer exploring his options early in the free agency period. That has made things difficult with the Celtics, who have other priorities, like the pursuit of Gordon Hayward and potentially a trade for Paul George."

The Celts have made it clear that Hayward is their priority and Blake a second option. That probably puts the Celts at a disadvantage with respect to Griffin, teams that make meeting with him their priority may have an edge.

Hehehehe Hopefully the C's can get in early, Hayward is said to make a quick decision. IMO they should talk to Griffin ASAP. Clippers are losing players, worse case they could do a S&T even if Hayward agrees.

Even if that's true, of Celtics don't sign Hayward, I don't think Griffin should not see what is the best option for himself, even if the Celtics thought they had a better option. Should the Knicks have an advantage because they talked to him and only him? Griffin is smarter than that.

TBH at this point, I think I'd settle for Gordon Hayward + Blake Griffin.

Paul George drama getting too dramatic lol. First demanding BKN 18 and LAL pick, and then there's him going to the Lakers the following year. And then having to gut our roster to fill it up with two all-star wings. I'd love to get PG13 as much as the next Celtics fan here, but...a one-year rental ain't worth two powerful assets.

I'll be happy if we land both Hayward and PG13 though  ;D

I think that scenario is a lot more complicated than PG13 + Hayward, and that was complicated anyways  :P

I hope you meant "or" instead of "+".

Id consider the signing of either of them a successful offseason:

I'd consider any PG trade that keeps Smart Thomas Horford Tatum Brown and Nets '18 a successful offseason.

If we sign none of them, I wouldn't be too disappointed either provided that doesn't lead to a panic move and Ainge certainly doesn't seem to be the panic type.
