Team up with Europe, and the rest of the world. Start out with about ten teams, and create a league that is a blend Of USA brand basketball and the very different Euro game.

A league full  of NBA caliper defensive player's. A league good enough to know if someone is dominating it chances are very good the player is a clear NBA player.

Invest in Great coaches, from both sides And have them work together to Blend the two games together with a touch more USA brand hoops.

The schedule wouldn't need to be that long but teams would have to travel across the ocean from USA to Europe from time to time.

It could be a blend if players from all over the world. Terry Rozier, Semi Ojeleye, and Yabu could be in it.

Demetrius Jackson, Jabari Bird, those guys are not talented enough to even play in the league. We could send Jaylen Brown there and he could play major minutes against very good competition.

I'm going to just expand the idea to a world leauge to make the idea better. Since they could be flying all over the world they play three game mini series but not as often.

 Example

 Tokoyo
 Moscow
 Beijing
 Rio de Janero
 London
 Amsterdam
 Paris
 New York
 Chicago
 Los Angeles

My take is that there won't be a new league, but expansion somewhere in 5-10 years. My guess is that NBA will create a 6 team EURO division picking between these cities;

 London
 Paris
 Rome
 Athens
 Berlin
 Madrid
and due to politics further down the list:
 Moscow
 Istanbul

I guess the NBA name would lose its true meaning then.
"The joy of the balling under the rims."

I don't know how the travel logistics could work.  TP for thinking outside of the box.

I wish we could develop the D league so that it can keep better players and be a step below the NBA.  MLB has 6 minor league teams for every MLB team plus there are independent leagues.  I feel that there should be room for high quality minor league professional basketball in the US.  College kind of kills it, but I think a well run minor league could work especially if they let kids straight of high school play and earn good money.
