I think Cleveland could play Kyrie off the ball when they are both on the court.  It might reduce the wear and tear on Kyrie not having to handle the ball as much.  Rose will be on the court with the second unit too, no matter how Cleveland tries to sell this in the near term.

Why would you have the best ball handler in the entire NBA play off the ball?

Because being a good dribbler has nothing to do with being a good passer, running plays, and creating for teammates.

This is along the lines of my thinking.  Irving uses his handles to create for himself.  He can still do that if Rose brings up the ball and initiates either a fast break or a set play.  I think Irving will like playing with Rose more than Smith.  I am not suggesting that it is ideal or will put CLE over the top, just that it is workable for the amount of time I would expect that they would both be on the court.

This is just someone guessing.  The same person who said that we were going to trade for Griffin AND Westbrook a year ago this week.

He's 37 and has played only 390 minutes over the last two seasons combined (in 53 games over the span). He doesn't have much left.

But I love that he's still with Miami. How often does anyone, let alone a non-star player, stay with the same team for his entire career?

Spurs with Gasol and Ginobli back, and they added Rudy Gay. Those guys had GSW on the ropes until they lost Kwahi Leonard. They must believe they can take them if healthy.
