We appear to have entered a vicious circle.  The West is more talented than the East, so Western teams have to be more aggressive in improving their rosters, which leads to them poaching talent from the East, which makes the East weaker and lessens the need to improve, which makes teams more likely to blow it up and trade their best vets to the West.

Mike

It also makes the East open for us for years to come and 2018 LA pick (2-5) more possible.
Starting when, 2020?  Like I just said, we can't pretend LeBron does not exist.

Can't just pretend he can't be beaten either.

Teams in the West are thinking they have a chance to beat the Warriors so why doesn't anyone in the East think they can beat one man in LeBron. I mean he is tired and he is defeated and might be ripe for the taking. His team is not improving. They have no assistant GM to help him. His whole team is getting older - Korver 3yr deal at age 36? They can be beat and the teams in the East just have to believe. The Celtics have to believe. Let's Go!!

So moving the conversation from pretending LeBron does not exist to pretending he can be beat is a step in the right direction.  However, the evidence is still not on your side.

Hill - Harris - Chandler - Millsap - Jokic

That'd be one of my favorite starting lineups in the league.

With Murray, Barton, Lyles, Plumlee off the bench.

Not a contender, but a real fun team.

Minny has put together a real nice team too, they just added Taj Gibson.

Minny is probably the 6 seed out there if Hayward returns to Utah.

They could well be the 2 seed in the east.

Not getting the high seed finish for Minny. Yes they added Butler, Teague and Gibson but 3 out of their 5 starters and almost their entire bench are poor to awful defenders. They will score but I see them giving up lots of points too. With a Western Conference schedule they may only win about 40-44 games.

Wiggins and KAT could and probably should make substantial leaps.

I see them as the 6 seed ahead of Denver. ~45 wins.

The west will be a blood bath this year and a least a couple of good teams will miss the playoffs. It could be so bad that they change the playoff seating rules and just seat the 16 best teams after this...

At this point, they should revamp the playoff seeding.

Suns waiving Leandro Barbosa. He would've been better for The CAVS than Jose Cailderon or Kyle Korver.

Lebron as player/coach is Cavs biggest strength.

Lebron as GM will be the Cavs' downfall.

Why?

Because it's a bit ridiculous there may be multiple teams out west could very well finish with winning records and not make the playoffs. I think it sucks for fanbases of teams that are trying to win to miss out.

Bigger picture, those teams that miss the playoffs end up right back in the lottery so young talent just gets funneled out west.
