My first preference would be for us to trade the #3 pick for Porzingis. Whatever minor player adds to make that work even if it is Crowder or Smart. If this can't be done then how about this:

Boston trades the #3 and next years Clippers pick to the Kings for their #5 and #10 spot. Take best player available at #5 (Tatum, Isaac, etc) and then trade Bradley and Zeller and the #10 pick to the Spurs for Aldridge and the 29th pick.

Why for Boston - Boston still likely gets the man they targeted at the #5 spot while picking up another first rounder this year. This solves the upcoming issue with Bradley likely leaving and helps with the logjam at guard. (Smart and Rozier take those minutes) This frees up even more cap space to be able to go after Hayward. It also gives us a lot more strength down low and we can let Amir fade away.

Why for Sacramento - This gives them the ability to move up those two spots and maintain another first rounder (more than the one for two that some are suggesting).

Why for the Spurs - They are able to add a very good guard in AB and likely be able to sign him long term. They add a player in Zeller as well who could do well in their system. They get out from under Aldridge as well for this top ten pick they are said to be after. The numbers work in the player trade.

Thoughts?

Pass. If we're not going to get younger, we'd better be able to win this year. LA does neither.

Same age as Horford and basically the same as Amir. HUGE updgrade from Amir Johnson. He's easily got the ability to put up 18 and 8 with good efficiency and solid defense the rest of his contract. (2 more years if he picks up his option) A front court with him and Horford definitely puts us in a better position to win now and all we lost was AB who we will likely lose anyway, and Zeller who is probably trade bait. This also puts us in a better position to attract Hayward. All to move down two spots and pick up another first rounder this year. Don't these two rookies and a wash in age of the bigs make us younger as well?!

Have you seen Aldridge play? He is terrible. Why would we want another soft big that is terrible in the playoffs?  PASS PASS PASS PASS

I would not give up a lottery pick for him. He is on the decline

Yes. I have seen Aldridge play and he is definitely not terrible. Did he have a rough series in the playoffs this season? Definitely. He is also a 5 time All-star and 4 time All-NBA recipient who averaged 17 and 8 in the regular season this year. This proposal gives up almost nothing and so is definitely a low risk high reward trade that doesn't prevent us from doing anything that we had already planned. Clearly Danny isn't in love with anyone at the top of the draft and so we aren't likely giving up a player at 3 he is enamored with. I would definitely prefer Porzingis and hope that is what happens, however this is definitely an upgrade and if you truly feel that Aldridge is horrible you definitely shouldn't quit your day job to be an NBA scout...

Aldridge is done. Can't play on San Antonio. Used to be good in Portland. He is now TERRIBLE. Will never make another All Star team. Salary of over 21 million means nobody else - no Hayward, No Griffin, 100% NO

Sure. Let's get worse. Destroy our future, and clear the way for LeBron to join the Spurs.

I don't know if he's done but I never thought he was going to be a good fit in San Antonio. Not sure if he fits with us either but if Danny thought so I'd listen.

Not true. Giving up Bradley and Zeller's salary plus the savings moving down from 3 to 5 (900k) puts us within 3 million of Aldridge's salary. Minor adjustments or another tiny move and this doesn't interfere.  If you don't think he is a fit fine, but don't make up stuff to try and make your point.

Once again. Make a point vs spouting things that aren't true. Give some actual examples how this destroys our future and get worse?!

Did you not see the playoffs where be disappeared and disappointed? He would go scoreless for an entire half at a time. He's a joke in the modern NBA  where you need to shoot from 3 and post game is mostly a joke

Zeller's salary is inconsequential as it is non guaranteed and going to be dumped this summer.  By taking on Aldridge you would in fact be adding a ton of salary.
