Could the Celtics be in on Paul George?

According to NBA insider Sam Amico, the Pacers were going through many trade offers on the table for Paul George as of Wednesday night and apparently a good number of teams have put in offers for the forward. The Cavs, Lakers and Celtics were said to have put together the strongest package for him.

It would appear any package the Celtics were to offer for George would include the No. 3 overall pick
.

Danny already turned down Butler for #3. If he want George, he is there for the taking, at probably the lowest value he will ever be.

Getting George also helps bigly with the Lakers pick as you all know.

He has to do this, especially if he has word that he will extend, or is confident he can be convinced

Can Danny ask to speak to PG through a back channel so we have some kind of accurance he could be open to staying or is that tampering?

If we end up with Tatum or Jackson, ugh. There's still free agency, but man this two timeline bs. Get IT4 some help.

I believe if Indy gives consent it isn't tampering. And guess who is still in the Indy organization.....

Pretty sure that's going to fall to IT, Bradley, and Horford.

For some reason, teams and their reps can't contact players on other teams, but their players can contact other teams' players. Like how Lebron et al planned the Superfriends team by planning their collective free agency while under contract with different teams.

With the new salary cap can we still get Paul George and Hayward/Griffin?

Assuming we actually pick at #3

Its only going to be like 2 mil less than it was projected to be. Danny can clear that by trading Rosier, after matching salaries in a PG13 trade.

But yea, #3 wouldn't work with that, probably going in the trade if George says he will extend, which I am fine with.

I'd do PG for #3 if he agrees to sign long term, which I highly doubt. Otherwise I give up nothing for 1 year rental to get bounced in the ECF again.

People actually suggesting trading #3+ for Paul George with the "hope" he stays long term.

We would beat Cleveland with PG (unless they really get major upgrades)
Deron Williams
Korver
Frye
Jr Smith
Lebron all getting worse

Smart and Brown still improving, only Horford is getting slightly worse
Then you add in a top 15 player in the NBA and the matchup is really even

I assume you're talking about trading #3. AB and Crowder for PG than signing Hayward? If so that I agree we would have a good chance.

I'm holding out for KP and Hayward.

George is a much better defender than KP.
