Keep in mind this could help the Kings pick in 2019

Crowder is likely to still be better than the 10th pick in this draft in 2 years.

I know, it could hurt our pick.

No reason for the Kings to make that trade.

Why would we do this? Crowder is more valuable then the 10th pick

Yes definitely. Jaylen is already here. Odds on another SF in the draft. Possibly Hayward. That is 2-3 SFs on the roster. Little need for Crowder here.

The #10 pick gives Boston a chance at adding a quality young player for down the road.

The Kings wouldn't move 10 for Russell, they aren't moving it for Crowder
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yes.  I used to like Crowder until I realized he really doesn't give you all that much.
Not truelly a lockdown defender, not a knockdown shooter and a horrible rebounder.

Used to play with an edge, but the edge is gone.

I wouldn't say he's a horrible rebounder, for a SF anyway. But his defense has regressed. He's a lot closer to average than he is to lockdown that's for sure.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Unless the #10 is needed to facilitate a bigger deal (other team doesn't want Crowder, but wants a lottery pick), then no way. We are in pseudo-win-now mode; we can't go bringing in yet another rookie while trading away our one (soon to be) great contract. I understand the #10 would cost less than Crowder and be signed to one additional year, but I have my doubts that said rookie would be as effective as Crowder from day one...which we would need him to be.

We have more than we can play. Or even carry on the roster. And frankly, these foreign teams might start charging us for stashing all these guys, assuming they aren't already. If all of our prospects went to the d-league, we'd fill out the Claws roster too. Wyc had better buy more teams.

While I am not a huge Crowder fan he is worth more than a 10th pick in any draft including this one.

Is this a serious question? Dudes on this blog are only prepared to give up 3 (by itself) for Porzingis, but giving up Crowder is too rich for 10?
