Jackson says he'd love to play for Boston. Couldn't work out logistics for workout after trade for #3.  He thought they would draft Fultz.

Jackson:  "I'm getting lambasted in the media right now and this might hurt my draft stock/salary slot.   We need to spin this, BJ!  And do it now!!!"

BJ: "Umm...but....ummmm..... Ugh...okay"

If he couldn't work out the logistics, why did he say "give me a draft promise and I'll go workout"

Doesn't make sense

I don't interpret it that way. From the quote, he figured it was a waste of time when Celtics were drafting #1. Everybody had Fultz no.1. They were drafting Fultz. That was his mistake.  When they traded down and Jackson came in play, on Monday, he wanted to workout  with them, but couldn't work out the timing before the draft.

He says, "I'd love to play for Boston." End of discussion.

Knowing Stevens' offensive ball movement system, does anyone worry about Tatum not really fitting in with that style of play?

Nope. Am a little concerned about Jackson and defenses sagging off him and giving him the jump shot. Jackson is going to have to make those shots

Not in the slightest.  He'a a very capable passer, and that might be an understatement.  His court vision is probably my favorite attribute.

Ainge/Stevens are playing a close hand on their #3 pick. I know the coaches on NBA TV draft preview show  last night had Jackson going #3 to Boston. Tatum #4 to Phoenix. They figure Boston is defense oriented. Tatum was interviewed by Grant Hill, who fits closely with his style of play. It boils down to offense vs defense. And is maybe a tipoff on how close they are to signing Hayward.

No doubt Jackson's offense is a concern, especially mid range. That's why they need Hayward if they want Jackson.

I think Jackson's court vision is on a different level, which may be why Tatum seems inadequate in this regard.

I doubt it. If anything, Tatum has always been a skilled passer offensively. Plus his length makes up for his weak altheticism.

Brad Stevens told Jayson Tatum he valued his ability to guard 1-4 while also packaging elite scoring ability.

Considering Jackson has literally one of the worst shooting forms, I have seen in a NBA prospect ever since MKG, I can only hope and pray that his passing makes up for his awful offense.

I'd prefer Tatum anyway, but let's also remember it's mostly player agents making the calls on workout, medical records, etc. I doubt Jackson is sitting in some throne somewhere saying, HA! I Shall NOT work out for the measly Celtics, thine franchise lacks adequate room for a man of my power!!!!
All decisions his agent make should had his approval so i don't buy this "it's his agent not him" bullEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.
That said, he clearly has some decision making problems

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Brad liked Tatums ability to guard 1-4
Tatum may not be able to guard anyone very well, never mind 1's and 2's!
