Honestly a bunch of teams that make sense missed out on him. Probably because they didn't know he was available. I mean that trade came out of nowhere. I mean you start looking around the league, and I think he would have made sense in Indiana, New York, Cleveland, Denver, Portland, Chicago, Phoenix, Sacramento, Washington, and I'm sure a few others (I think he would fit ok in Boston, but not at this point in the summer). I mean take Phoenix, they have Chandler who is basically a much worse version of Howard. Chandler basically has the same contract as Plumlee. Acquire Howard for Chandler and filler and Phoenix is more interesting next year if nothing else. Then maybe they finalize the Love trade and all of a sudden, they are way more interesting. Howard is better than Tristan Thompson, maybe Atlanta would have done that straight up. Chicago has some quality wings and badly needs an interior player. The same can be said for many of those other teams I mentioned.
That said, I do think Charlotte is the perfect fit for him. He had great success with Clifford and the Hornets have a clear need for what Dwight brings.
