Crap... if this happens....

-Will it include the 2017 #2.  If so, Pacers may take Jackson instead of Ball (ruin Dannys plan if he wanted Jackson)
- 2018 Lakers pick less chance to landing on 2-5

There's a piece on ESPN from them about it that says this:
Quote
The Lakers have been adamant that they will not part with the No. 2 pick or last season's No. 2 overall pick Brandon Ingram in a trade for George, knowing that the Pacers' All-Star hopes to sign with his hometown Lakers as a free agent in July 2018.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/19689275/indiana-pacers-los-angeles-lakers-talking-trade-paul-george

Hopefully they stand firm and let George go somewhere else for a year and he can get comfortable and decide he likes that place a lot and never goes to LA and they held out for nothing while also preserving the 2018 pick as a top 5 for us.

Hopefully.

I think a lot of the Lakers rumors regarding them trying to acquire a 3rd pick is so that they can keep #2 (for Ball) and still trade the Pacers two 1st's including a lottery pick (if they actually get one for Russell).  So the Lakers trade Russell to Sacto or Detroit for 10 or 12, then trade that plus 28 and maybe Randle to the Pacers for George (or maybe the Pacers would rather have Russell than the pick).  The Lakers then draft Ball at 2 and then build around George, Ball, and Ingram with guys like Clarkson, Nance, Deng, Mozgov providing some depth.

No worries there's always 2019  ;)

Marvin Bagley III NBA Draft Scouting Report
6-11 - Center - Gilbert, AZ

Bagley might be the highest upside prospect since Anthony Davis. He's very young and it will be fun to watch him develop over the coming years, to see if he reaches his high upside potential.

Pros
He has great size, length and athleticism and a rare skill set for such a young player. Has coordination and body control normally seen in smaller players and has great suddenness with his movements.

A good leaper for his size, he plays above the rim effortlessly and is an overall smooth and fluid athlete. He glides up and down the court and can really explode to the rim.

Has great hands and catches everything thrown his way. Can score with either hand (lefty) and has a nice array of ball fakes and post moves. Has great footwork in the post and does a nice job of getting the defender off balance with his array of moves. Handles the ball and sees the court well and has a good feel for moving the ball out of the double team.

Has developed a nice mid range jumper, which he can get off the turnaround or step back moves. Shoots from a high position like a young Kevin Garnett. Does a good job with the jab step and playing from a triple threat position. Is developing range out to three point land and is a solid catch and shoot player.

Plays hard and looks to dominate. Can change the game with his defensive presence in the lane, while also stepping out to guard the pick and roll and defend the three point line. His versatility on defense gives him a lot of value.

Cons
Is as complete a basketball player as you'll find at his age. There's always room for improvement in his game an filling out his body but there's not a glaring weakness in his game.

Will have to add some upper body strength and continue to define his body. Can get muscled out of the post and doesn't always have the strength to finish the three point play.

Comparisons
He has length and superb agility like a young Kevin Garnett.

Projection
Top 3 pick in the 2019 NBA Draft

Moses Brown NBA Draft Scouting Report
7-1 - C - NY

A tall and talented center who shows flashes of big time potential but is still growing into his body and developing his game.

Pros
Has rare height and length and surprising coordination for such a tall player. Does a really nice job or running the floor and getting into position in the lane, where he can use his height to his advantage. Has good hands, catches the ball well and is an advanced ball handler for a young center.

Has impressive coordination and quickness. Gets off the floor quickly and can play above the rim with ease.

Shows an ability to handle the ball in the open court and can take his man off the dribble and get to the rim. Is developing a dangerous face-up game to go along with his repertoire of post moves. Has good form on his shot and high release point.

Can score in the low post with a baby hook that's nearly impossible to block because of his height and length. Gets a lot of buckets off of put-backs and offensive rebounds.

On defense he does a solid job of defending the lane and shows good awareness as a weak side shot blocker. Stays vertical and has excellent timing as a shot blocker. Knows how to defend without fouling.

Alters a lot of shots thanks to his great size. Does a nice job of battling for rebounds.

A hard worker with a desire to be great.

Cons
Needs to add a lot of strength.

Isn't very refined with his back to the basket moves and doesn't yet have the strength to assert himself in the paint.

Comparisons
Reminds of Anthony Davis (although Brown is taller)

Projection: first round pick in the 2019 NBA Draft

I think people are kidding themselves if they think LA has the ammo to get Paul George.   Their players are not particularly appealing.  They do have the number two pick though but who wants Ingram, Russell or Randle and think that would be a fair deal for Indy.  Not me, half those guys are not starters on a good team.

The media loves LA and wants them to be good again.   But the Pacers need real assets back not junk.

What 2018? That's the 6ers or ours.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Indiana has no reason to take back junk from LA so it will be interesting. LA will have to give up something to get him this year. Regardless adding PG to that team doesn't make them a playoff team.

George can sit the season. And walk. They have a lot of reasons to take back junk

This is why Danny insisted on another pick besides just the Lakers 2018.

Sometimes you're better off with nothing instead of junk. Pacers have no reason to do him or the Fakers any favors. I'm hearing if they do a trade now that the Fakers can give him a 5 year super max contract next year. So I'd say PG has the most to lose. Pacers could keep him this year he shatters his leg again than he's screwed. If I were the Pacers I'd play hard ball!

It's a catch-22.

Do you want the Lakers to blow substantial assets to get Paul George thus jeopardizing their future yet probably hurting the Celtics chances at LAL '18?

I also have no idea why LAL would waste anything of value to get PG right now when they can wait a year and get him via FA.

It blows that IND got screwed over in this.
