Apparently the Knicks wanted Devin Booker and the 4th pick for Porzingis and were turned down.

Based on that asking price I wonder what the Knicks were asking for from Boston.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Would you take on all three of KP, Melo, and Noah if that's what it took in a deal? With approximately $30M in cap space, how much more salary would we need to send out?

Would something like #3, Crowder, Rozier, and the Memphis and Clippers picks be enough salary and value for them? Would it work if we sent out Bradley in a separate deal for future draft compensation, which probably happens anyways?

I mean, Noah has a downright terrible contract, but you could do worse for a backup big. Would Porzingis and keeping all of our major picks be worth that? It might be close.

IT, Smart
Brown, Green
Melo, ?
KP, Zizic
Horford, Noah

Granted, with their love for Jackson, I bet this deal wouldn't be agreed upon until draft night to ensure that he's there.

Not surprisingly. Where'd you see that?

Probably asked for our #3 pick, Crowder, and BKN pick which Ainge promptly turned down too.

I think Booker is overrated, but maybe that's just me.

Lakers and Pacers engaged in talks for Paul George. Would the Lakers give the Pacers the #2 pick?

I could see the Pacers with the second pick taking Jackson

Something else to consider:

NY loves Jackson;

Jackson has been in New York;

Jackson continues to refuse to workout for Boston;

Jackson is projected to go at 3 to Boston.

Could be a prelude to a trade involving KP and #3.

There's no proof that were in talks with anyone

Doubt they get the number two pick in the deal, but who knows if they're feeling desperate.

NY loves Jackson, but I'm pretty sure they'd love a possibility of Ball even more. That might be perfect for our Porzingis chase, especially if they're looking for a big name backcourt player. Lavar and Lonzo  would blow up in the New York media, too.

Too lazy to find it - someone earlier had said, Porzingis warrants Dirk comps, but he won't be the 6th-highest scoring player in NBA history.

Fair.

But Porzingis projects as a better career rebounder, defender and shot-blocker - and maybe, what, at least 70% the scorer?

A lot depends on his durability. He's skinny, but tough and will work on that, obviously. If we have a decent bigs rotation (Horford, Zicic, Yabu?) that could help his longevity. Brad is also great at playing guys within their physical means, from what we've seen so far.

I dunno. I love the kid. Think he could have a long and outstanding career here, if he wants it.

EDIT: Basketball Reference numbers for both players through Year 2, cumulatively:

I don't see any reason NY would trade him, unless they are robbing Danny(and we know that doesn't happen ).

He is on a rookie contract for the next 3 years, and projects to be a top 20 player for the next decade. That is not a player you trade, its a player you build around.

He even fits the triangle, I don't see you this makes sense for NY unless they are getting something like #3 or Jaylen,Brk 18, LA/ Sac pick.

I would give that up for Davis, and more, but not for KP

If NY is dumb enough to trade Porzingis, it should be to the Celtics who have the most assets for a rebuild.

Carmelo Anthony is actually not a bad fit for Boston for the short term, esp if it yields us Porzingis.

I would offer Josh Jackson/Tatum, Jae Crowder and 2 future 1sts (non BKN pick). Hopefully Phil bites.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Lakers Pacers...D Russell and #28 to Indy for George..

If this is the deal and it goes down...I have no doubt that the Lakers take Ball at 2 and Boston takes Jackson at 3
