For a 1 year rental in hopes of convincing him to stay long term, that's way too much.

At most I give them only one of those 2 you mentioned, and maybe like a second round pick this year and perhaps the memphis or clippers pick.  But that's it.  If they want the #3 pick that badly, then they'll have to give us their #18 this year plus they'd have to throw in Thaddeus Young.  And even then, I'm not sure if I'd do it.

Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle and possibly the 28th overall pick seems just fine to me. Indiana should accept this... they are not going to take much more.

Here’s the risk for the Lakers: Let’s say Boston does a deal for Paul George … whatever happens, maybe they beat Cleveland get to the finals and lose in five games to the Warriors or get to a Game 7 against Cleveland in the East … Paul George is going to love playing in Boston, most players do. He’ll probably love playing for Brad Stevens. Star players get treated in a special way in Boston.

All of a sudden the Lakers may go, ‘what if we can’t get him? What if all of a sudden his mindset changes?’

That’s the risk the Lakers are running by just … it’s one thing for Paul George right now to believe he’s going to the Lakers. But the season and ending up somewhere else – and i think there’s only a couple places that could happen – could change that. And I think, to me, it forces the Lakers to get involved in this in the next couple days and make a representative offer of some kind.

Not sure how much I'd ultimately chance in a trade, but I do think he'd end up staying here.

Obviously wouldn't trade as much for him as I would if he had 3 years left on his contract, but I also think he'd stay here and would give more than just a nominal amount for him.  I think the question to ask him is - would you be open minded and resign with us if we win you over. If the answer is yes, we do it.

I wouldn't take that chance for anything other than our own #1 next year and an expiring AB. No way I'd use a potential high pick. It would be lunacy to give up a BRK or LAL pick for him.

People can theorize that he would want to be in Boston, but there's no guarantee getting to LA isn't more important to him, no guarantee that we won't have a mediocre season next year, and no guarantee Lebron won't blow up CLE and entice PG to LA (or elsewhere) with him. Once we make a deal for him, he holds all the cards. Would be monumentally stupid by ainge, but then that's his specialty.

Yeah, I'd chance it, but NONE of the Nets picks or the new pick deal with the 76ers. Crowder/Zeller/Rozier, and any Bos/Memp pick. It's going to be more than most teams would give up.
