I was just citing what it said in the article.

Named teams like LAC, Utah, Chicago and Atlanta as potential suitors for up to $20m per year.

I agree that he is too old to be given that insane money.

This sounds like a message from Iggy to the Warriors: "You better not expect me to take a huge discount."
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

So long as it is a short contract (say two years), I have no problem with Iggy at $20 million.

Good signing for someone like Atlanta or Utah.

well the MLE is 8.4 million and the max is over 30 million.  20 million is actually a pay cut for Iggy based on the old numbers vs. the new numbers on a percentage basis.  Granted he is older, but I've been projecting 3 years, 60 million for Iggy for awhile.  I actually thought Philadelphia made a lot of sense, but they weren't mentioned in the article.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, too. This will be his last big payday, and he wants to cash in one more time.

No.  He doesn't make sense for Boston who already has more wings then they have slots for.  But I don't see 20 million as that crazy for Iguodala.  He is still an excellent player, whose numbers have suffered because of his teammates, not because he has really declined.  That said, I'd be weary of a 4 year contract, because he is getting pretty old and sometimes those guys just go off a cliff so to speak.

He has 1 maybe 2 years of ok basketball left in him before turning into Jefferson

His life on the court will be harder..likely . The next team he joins..so more suspectable to injury

If somebody gives him that I think they will regret it. He is very old by NBA standards and has been getting some injuries even playing a limited role on Golden State. It also seems like he may have some chronic issues with his back. I could see someone overpaying him cause of the allure of getting a part of Golden State's magic, but definitely could see it being highly regrettable if more than a 1 year deal.

Bulls management is dumb enough to give him 20 million a year and decide to keep Butler and Rondo once Wade leaves.

This is an interesting tweet from Tim Kawikami who works for San Jose Mercury.

My point to @DannyLeroux on his podcast over the weekend: Is there a team with $18-20M in cap room that will give him 3-4 years?

Quote
If there is, Iguodala has to consider it. If not, he and his agent have to push the Warriors into giving up that third or fourth year.

It does beg the question, which team would be willing to give a 33 year old a 4 year / $80 million contract? Who has the cap room to do that and would be willing to take him for four years? If there is one, no question Iggy should take it.

But who? That's a lot of money to commit to a really good two-way player, but is older and might not even push the needle as far as competing. Or do you just pay him as sort of a mentor/player role?
