Indiana has almost no leverage.  PG screwed them over in that regard.
maybe maybe not.  this might create a bidding war or it might actually make the Lakers throw in some real value and thus might get Indiana more of a haul.

Why would LAL bother to throw anything of real value at Indiana if they know there is a really good likelihood they can get him next offseason?  If George does get traded somewhere, its almost certainly just going to be a one year rental if reports are correct.

Would be all for getting him with picks. But an extension has to be worked out in advance

Bradley, Zeller, two firsts (Non Brook, LAK, or #3) for George.

Draft Jackson

Sign Hayward

Move Crowder, Rozier, Demetirus, Mickey a Brook first and future first for Butler.

Re sign Jerebko and Green

IT/Smart
Butler/Brown/Green
Hayward/Jackson
George/Yabu/Jerebko
Horford/Zizic

Lol, stop with the drugs

Also, why are people thinking George is a PF...? LOL at that interior D and rebounding

Are you 12?
why the personal insult? if you disagree with another poster it is far better to simply explain why you disagree and provide supporting reasons and information. doing so increases the chances of having a conversation or debate that we all can join in and learn from.

there really is nothing gained by doing what you did above.

I would be fine with AB (rental for a rental) plus Boston's first next year plus a first from the Clippers.

No way do you send those three top level picks for a rental.

And if they are competing with the Cavs, and the Cavs are not including Love (which they shouldn't) then that is a competitive offer.

#3 + Crowder + one of our non BRK/LAL picks is the deal you would have to do. Not many teams could outbid that, and if he agrees to staying with us,  getting PG while basically getting another pick, and maintaining growth for the future is a coup.

The only reason is if they fear he may be traded to a team that can convince him to resign.  (like a Cavs team with Lebron that is a title winner)

has there been any indication whatsoever that George is willing to sign an extension if traded? Seeing reports that Indy reached out to Cleveland regarding a PG13 trade.

He freaking retweeted Paul Pierce saying for the C's to trade the pick for him

We would have his Bird rights

This would be the most loaded team he could join.

That is his own actions saying he wants to come to the c's, not someone talking for him.

Didn't he also say he would love to play with Hayward??

My offer will be Crowder, Memphis pick, the Clippers pick, KO (S&T) and any of those 3 2nd round prospects we have selected in the 17 draft. If they want more sign George next year in FA.

Are there really people here who would give up one (or more) of our #3/BRK 18/LAL picks for Paul George? How many times does he have to tell you he wants to go to LA?

He has one year left. ONE. YEAR. People can say he wouldn't leave our situation, but really? How would our situation be that great? PG isn't going to lift us over CLE. The minute we make a trade for him, we have zero leverage.

If (when?) the 17-18 season isn't good as hoped and we get trounced out of the playoffs by CLE again (very likely), not only are our picks gone, but so is Paul George on a plane to LA.

Then BRK could turn into Luca Doncic or Michael Porter. For Indiana if our moron GM trades it away, too. And we'd still be stuck with our roster of mediocre mismatched role players.

No thanks.

i like it ... but i think the offer for PG would need at least one of the Brook, LAK, or #3 pick

I'd give the LaK pick plus MEM or LAC pick, or one of our own, but want to hang onto BKN 17 and 18.  They can have Crowder and Smart. I'd rather keep Bradley.

I'd offer Bradley + the Lakers/Kings pick, which is pretty much guaranteed to be top 5. That's  a starter and an asset that's easily worth two mid-first rounders.

Alternatively we could offer Bradley + Brown, which has the advantage that it clears more cap space, Brown is probably a lesser asset than the Lakers/Kings pick, and it's not clear how Brown would get playing time behind Crowder, PG and potentially Hayward.

Why? Because if a team who is more competitive than the Lakers, ahem the Celtics, grabs him, it highly reduces the chances of him going to LA should he and the Celtics make a deep championship run next season which is likely.

What's that based on?  Besides projecting George's thought process?
