#Cavs and #Pacers talks have a feel of multiple players being involved. Indy wants a deal done before Thursday's draft.

#Cavs-#Pacers talk about Paul George is legit. This is more than a passing type of discussion, league sources tell AmicoHoops.

Oh, hooray.  ::)

Not totally sold on George's fit there, though. Yeah, it's a ton of talent, but is he really going to be as cool as Love was watching Lebron and Kyrie control the ball all of the time and iso every time down the floor?

Interesting...

I'd really rather George not play for the Lebrons or the Lakers. Perhaps a team like Portland can throw some picks at them. I like Portland.

.

Scal was on 98.5 this past Tuesday morning talking exactly about this.

He posited that George will be gone after this year so Pacers will definitely move him to get something.

He said that Cavs would offer Love for George for one last gasp attempt at the Warriors, KNOWING the likelihood that BOTH George and Bron Bron would bolt for LA at the end of the year.

He said that James' kids were enrolled in a school there already, but conceded that that in and of itself really wasn't conclusive of anyTHing necessarily.

Of COURSE George announces he's leaving Indiana---all it took was one phone call from LeBron---the dude who runs this freaking league....what a steaming pile of crap.

This "I wanna play for the Lakers" thing is phony---It's another LeBron Super Team-up.
Pansy League this has become. Weak.

If PG13 does indeed go to Cleveland, they are going to be contending for years to come with LeBron James (assuming they convinced PG13 that the Cavaliers culture is great and all).

The east will never be opened for any team not named the Cleveland Cavaliers lol.

After they lose again to GS, they'll both bounce to LA.  Love has always appeared to be the scapegoat in CLE for reasons unrelated to basketball.  I don't see PG being the difference, and he's proving to be far more of a diva than I thought.

Bah....Indy is gonna go for the false lure of continuing to make the playoffs with a player who they think will sell tickets.

If they could barely make it with George they'll never make the playoffs with an inferior player who never lead a team anywhere but the basement.

Eh, every NBA guy that I've seen fully expects that Love would be going elsewhere if any deal did go down. Love would essentially be a means to an end, i.e. to other assets.

Honestly, Boston would be the perfect third team in this scenario. I'd hate aiding in George to Cleveland, but Love would be a good fit here, as long as the cost was reasonable. With his smaller max ($22), it might not be out of the realm of possibility to legitimately get a Hayward type, too.

Well, if Indy is indeed looking for other "rebuilding" type assets let's just give them those assets directly. It really doesn't make any sense to give up assets for an inferior player, contract situation be [dang]ed. I would definitely give more to Indy for George than I would for Love.

I'm not really interested in Love anyways. Terrible defender.

Also: George has a smaller contract than Love currently.

Here's my thing.

Who else would.be willing to offer something for Paul George now that he said he want to play for the Lakers? And I mean offer something of great value?

I agree, Kevin Love doesn't fit the rebuilding plans of Indy, but seriously, ate the Pacers going to get a better offer?

2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

4-way deal:

Cleveland gets George.
Indiana gets Boston 2018, Memphis 2019, Clippers 2019
New Orleans gets Love, Philly 2017, Brooklyn 2018, Lakers 2018 (SAC 2019).
Boston gets Anthony Davis.

(Trade made in July since we otherwise fail the Stepian rule).

I don't believe that a lineup of IT, Bradley, Crowder, Davis, Horford could beat Golden State.

It could beat Cleveland as they are currently assembled - not convinced it could beat Cleveland with Lebron AND George.  That's a lot of firepower to try and stop, and a lot of defense to try and score against.  A Lebron + George combo would be deadly at the end of games.

We would need another piece.  If we traded for Davis and managed to sign Hayward as well, then I think a rotation of Thomas, Hayward, Crowder, Davis, Horford could compete with any team in the NBA.

Yeah, great. Let's be the only team in the league with two white all stars. Good PR for us

Pardon me if I don't take these types of concerns too seriously. If certain people are going to complain about the diversity of Boston's team for having two white All-Stars in a league that is over 80% people of color, then so be it. They obviously have the problem, not Boston.

I don't take these kind of race-baiting narratives seriously, and you shouldn't either.

No way Indiana is taking three late first round picks for George. Somebody will offer better.
