For those of us who wanted Markelle Fultz at #1:

I am a huge promoter of Markelle Fultz, and it is no secret that I despise the decision of trading our first ever lottery victory after losing so many. I also dislike the fact that Danny agrees to trade with the same rival team that declined to accept our crazy offers for one of their many bigs in recent years. It is all very difficult to accept.

That being said, if Danny is trying to get a vet in here via trade then I have to applaud him for trying to make the NBA more competitive at the top. If he can push the Cavs to 7 games, then Adam Silver should be kissing Ainge's feet. It will not be good enough for me or Boston, but it will be helping the NBA for whatever that's worth. Right now it is empty, but there is still hope that Ainge pulls a rabbit out of his hat. He has done it before.

TP. I'm in the same boat regarding my thoughts on the deal (or pending deal), but even making us more competitive against the upper echelon teams like GSW, Cleveland and SA is a good thing (just not quite good enough).

Good positive post that most people can get behind.

Ainge is really turning into the Robert Kraft of the NBA. I just wish he did anything except trade Fultz, to Philly of all places. The only way itd sting more is if it went to the Lakers.

I still think the bright side is that we can draft Jackson or Tatum and possibly have two top-5 picks next year.

For what it's worth, trying to trade for Philly's bigs we're rumors. Most of those rumors perpetuated from this very forum so they weren't even rumors, really.
