2017: 2 point guards (both very flawed according to celtics).
2018: 1 wing that resembles KD, 2 rebounding center monsters (one that resembles david Robinson), and a freak euro guard.

We can end up with 2 of Porter/ Ayton / Doncic / Bamba. Or its 2 dice rolls with the worst teams to getting a top pick. We now have a significantly higher chance of at least landing 1 of these guys (it's never guaranteed that the nets will continue to suck hence why I like  rolling the dice with Lakers to). Very important to get 1.

And the best part is Danny still gets his 2017 guy.

The team wasn't comfortable with fultz. I say this as a huge fultz fan

At face value, this trade is disappointing. It could really blow up in our face, especially if Brooklyn and the Lakers turn out to be good enough to miss out on top 5's (possible).

But if this happens, I would shut up for the rest of my life about Danny.

yeah this pick is getting traded now. you don't trade away the #1 pick for another lower pick. we are trading for a player. hopefully backdoor deal is already agreed to with hayward.

I think the 2017 draft is stronger than most in the 5-10 range but the top 5 of this year's draft is over-rated. It is nothing special.

I think the top of the draft (top 5 picks) has much more talent in it next year (2018) than this year's crop (2017). I like Ainge betting on 2018 too.

I would't say that it is a particularly genius move to trade down two spots, and get another possible top-5 pick, if they guys you want will be there at #3 anyways.  It is obvious.

It will be a genius move if he unloads them all for Anthony Davis.

Maybe we should trade down again to pick up another 2018 pick.  Haha in all seriousness Tatum could be there at 5 with Fox sneaking into the top 4. 

This has already been mentioned but trading the 3rd pick for the Kings 5th and 10th picks is an option too.
