Can we keep Bradley and Crowder with Hayward and Butler coming in? That would be a deep team.

Crowder would be expendable for sure. I'd love to keep Bradley on that team but if we are not resigning him than he should be traded.

 Horford Zizic
 Butler Crowder
 Hayward Brown
 Bradley Smart
 Thomas Rozier

Or if Avery is moved, and we trade next year's 2018 pick for Butler

 Horford
 Tatum
 Butler
 Hayward
 Thomas

AB is my favorite player.

That being said, he is the most expendable given:

1. He will cost more than Butler when he gets his new contract.

and

2. They play the same position.

The fact that AB seems to get injured often (not necessarily the same, chronic-type injury, though) is another factor for me.

Butler did not impress me though in the playoff series that we just beat them in. Maybe just worn down from carrying the scoring on the team all year,

 I LOVE Avery too.

If we traded next year's pick for Butler.

We could have five quality swing men on the roster.

 Jaylen Brown
 Hayward
 Josh Jackson
 Crowder
 Butler

Is that overkill considering all of them can play Small Ball PF and even shooting guard.

To get Butler, probably both Bradley and Crowder are gone (plus picks).

IT
Butler
Hayward
Horford
Olynyk
bench: Smart Fultz, Brown, Zizic

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Bradley is definitely gone. If we waited to make the deal official, we could do something along the lines of Bradley, Rozier, and the #3 - while using the salary that the #3 pick will make. We cannot use the salary of the pick on draft night.

This is assuming DA wants to keep Crowder and his killer salary.

If we trade all those picks for Butler Danny Ainge needs to be gone.

#1 pick and the chance to get the best prospect we had for years. You dont just yrade that for an uncertain future in Butler or PG13. This is the dumbest move for a promising franchise.

I dont care what Mark Walburgh thinks. I dont care what Paul Pierce thinks. Dont trade the Brooklyn picks for players. That will be the biggest mistake Ainge ever makes.

Draft Fultz n let IT walk next year.

Sign Hayward this summer.

Keep the 018 pick and draft one of Porter-Bamba-Ayton.

Trade Crowder or Bradley or maybe even both for a big and if its a must throw in the Clippers or Memphis pick. I dont like any of this trade talk i dont like it one bit. And if we trade both Brooklyn picks atleast get Anthony Davis or Giannis Antetokounpo.

Paul George makes no sense and is to much of a gamble, he's going to LA so its not worth it.

Butler makes no sense he's gonna cost way to much. Not worth all them picks.

Ainge if your reading this, dont sell the future for aging stars. Keep the picks and draft our championship roster

Anyone who thinks we can keep IT, Horford, Hayward, and PG (or Butler) for more than a year is delusional.

OTOH, we could have numerous players at Fultz's/Brk 18 salary.

Trading 2 high picks for a guy who is a year from a max contract would be the epitome of stupid. Hopefully at some point there's an adult in the room to slap some sense into Ainge. Not to mention we'd be in a very small window to compete, vs. several years.

I lack the vocabulary to describe how much of a moron Danny Ainge is if he doesn't hold onto these 2 picks.

And no, OP, Bradley and Crowder won't be here if we do anything resembling that. There's no chance Bradley is still with the team if we only do one of those things.

A dream scenario would be getting the lakers 2018 first round with the #3 this years and trading that for Butler ... I have no problem giving up Bradley and or Crowder to make it happen ... Therefore the Celtics potentially have the top two picks in 2018 and can once again draft one and flip another one...

IMO, it is an annoying and useless exercise to criticize Danny Ainge for something he hasn't done yet, and probably won't ever do.  Why so much anger?

What if the Lakers get Jackson and we're stuck Ball?! That'd be a nightmare

Using proper math thats only one pick ... #3 AB and Crowder .... one all star who plays both ways for a couple of good role players and a young player...

yeah agreed, it is getting past silly here now. everybody stop over analyzing and over reacting to crap that has not even happened yet. DA is playing this shell game the right way with others. Sit back grab a beer and some wings and watch the show.
LET'S GO CELTICS!
