Could this be the year that everyone points to and say’s, the Celtics actually passed on Markelle Fultz!  I personally think that Fultz can be a franchise player.  Fultz is special and if he does go on to be a superstar player for the Sixers, that will really be hard to watch. All we have to do is make the pick! The safest bet here is to give Fultz a chance to be a star for us. I have followed basketball for a long time and you just don’t get too many chances to draft a player like Fultz! Then you finally do and you give it away? For the chance at another top 10 pick??
Oh well, not my call and I will root for the Celtics no matter what, but it will be hard to watch  if Fultz becomes one of the best players in the league on another team. It will be even harder to have to say, Ya we could have had him!

Its the Danny way. That's why I believe he selects him unless we find a way to get Anthony Davis.

Last year's lottery went exactly as expected 1-14. You could argue that was driven by BPA.

I trust Danny to make the right choice.

Me personally, I would take Fultz.  That's the type of person I am.  I would always take the consensus #1 pick so nobody said I messed up.

Less risky.  Danny doesn't care about being right or wrong.  He goes with who he believes is the best prospect.  Gotta admire the guts he has to pass up on the guy nobody would criticize you for taking... even if he turns out to be a flop.

Danny didn't give Fulz promise--->Ball poor condition and JJ not impressive-->Fulz workout and murdered Lakers(and sixers soon)---->Leak some stupid trade to pump their fans expectation toward Fulz--->the bidding war begins today and our worst case is to draft Fulz

Remember when it comes to trade Danny Ainge is THE BEST and his playoff is just going to start

Before the draft it will be greek freak+picks, KAT and Davis for Ainge to choose

IF DA moves the first pick, it's so he can make an other move to make us better now and make us look better to Hayward and Griffin. He'd gather other picks to draft next year staggering the contracts a big more.

This move also saves enough money to land a max FA with out moving too much.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
It sure will make for a more interesting draft now. I was hopeful Danny was going to tell Fultz you are my guy until you retire. All this noise will now hurt if we do pick him.  In my heart now I hope some blockbuster comes because of all this speculation.

Nothing happened to the best player available.  It's the best player available at the spot that you pick.  If we pick 1st, it will be fultz.  If we pick 3rd, it will be whoever is the best player at that spot.

This.

If you take Fultz and Jackson is better or Ball, Tatum, etc. no one will really have a case to mock your choice. BUT if you take the non consensus #1 pick and he is not better than Fultz, watch out.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Yep, this has much less to do with Fultz not being BPA and much more to do with PHI wanting him badly and Danny is trying to cash in.

Glad you guys aren't the gm.  Taking a guys because he's the safe pick is pretty narrow-minded.  I want a guy that makes his choices based on his judgement, not on what others think he should do.
