That was my question, is Philly just guaranteeing they get Jackson?

Then the obvious question is what does LA do?

Stephen A is an idiot, this proves it more. Doesnt make any sense. They could take him at 3 without giving up anything, plus Fultz wouldnt make it past the Lakers for the Celtics.

This is the Celtics initiating talks to drop to pick up Jackson at number 3.

Not necessarily true. If Philly thinks the Lakers will take Jackson at 2, which could very well happen, then they would need to move up.

All that said, yeah, it's still wrong. They want the first pick for Fultz, not Jackson.

take Fultz

Leave Celtics with CBS man ...Tatum.....

No matter what. Fultz and Jackson go before Ball ......so that automatically leaves us with Tatum

its wriiten in the stars .......Danny pulls the bone head trick of all time trades away Fultz or Jackson ....he can have either ......for Tatum and Lakers 2018 ....which if they get PG might not be so great. first .

Magic is going to spend like crazy ,  LA might not be a top 5 lottery team like everyone expects .

Take either Fultz or Jackson and quit trying to over play he gig .  and screw up something simple.

I'm pretty sure how this is going to work out:

Celtics: 1st
76'ers: 3rd, best of LA/Phi 2018, Sac 2019

Then the 76'ers takes Jackson with 1 and LA Lakers take Ball with 2. The Kings want to trade up to secure Fox.

Celtics: 3rd
Kings: 5th, 10th

So the Kings take Fox at 3, but the Suns have a higher need on the wing than in the backcourt and take Tatum at 4.

Celtics take the guy they want with Fultz at 5 and have collected some extra assets in the process: 10th pick, best of LA/Phi 2018, Sac 2019.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Everyone wants jackson

His agent would have you believe so. I dont buy it.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No way 76ers are moving up just to pick Jackson at #1. Reportedly his workout with the Lakers went bad hence I don't they are going to draft him at #2 which makes him available at #3.

Jonathan Givony - @DraftExpress: Also was told that Josh Jackson's workout in LA "did not go well at all." Brought high energy but struggled with his shooting and handle.

He's changed his tune on the latest Sportscenter.  Now he is reporting Philly will take Fultz and Boston wants to try to trade multiple picks for Butler then try to get Hayward in free agency.

I think he's just been reading twitter. He has no clue what the Celtics are planning to do after the pick swap.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

That bothers me. I was skeptical of his handles in the first half of the season. Too many basic drives and only comfortable in certain areas of the floor. Did not look like his handle would translate well to the NBA. Then in the 2nd half of the season, Jackson showed more range and ability in his handles ... which eased my concerns.

But hearing this now brings those concerns back ... wondering just how good his handles really are. Is he a Jeff Green level ball-handler? Or Andre Igoudala?

Correct.  And let's not forget that the hot take prior to this trade rumor was that Danny likes Jackson more than Fultz and would take him #1.

It is possible that PHI wants Jackson (or Fultz) badly and wants to make sure LA cannot get either before them.

The #1 rated prospect is not falling to #5, quit dreaming.
