Trade down with the Kings

#3 + #37 for #5 + #10

Use #5 to draft Isaac
Use #10 to draft Ntilikina

Because when you can turn the #1 pick into a bunch of role players, you gotta do it.

You gawta dew it.

Lol I'm glad someone else is as thoroughly disgusted at this report as I am.

I guess I'm utterly confused as #3 doesn't guarantee Josh Jackson and he would appear to be the only other target.

I'm in the camp of PhoSita and jpotter33.

Still If we have the 3rd pick, I would indeed also trade down further. Not really that high on Ball, Jackson, Fox or Tatum.

Because being drafted at #3 doesn't necessarily mean you are better than whomever is drafted at #5.  I' d rather have Isaac than whomever we can draft at #3. It's highly likely Isaac is gonna be available at #5.

Really like Ntilikina as well.

If we really trade down to 3 I'm hoping it's because Ainge thinks the Lakers will take Jackson and we end up with Ball.

I like Fultz a lot better than Ball but at least Ball is a wacky and potentially really fun pick.

My understanding is if we pick 3rd we can keep Avery. That tells me either we could trade Avery (maybe for a pick) during the year or we could do a sign/trade where we could sign him for some other team for like 20 mill and trade him for a 15 mill player and a pick. So then we get the #3 pick this year (in a worst case scenario maybe that's Tatum) then 5 more top 10 picks in the next draft. Then sign a max free agent this year. Our team would be PACKED. Nobody's ever seen anything like that. Players wouldn't be able to demand max contracts really. Or we'd have all the young talent needed to find those max guys. They'd like winning.

So let's say the guy is really Jackson and we actually get him. We'd have Jackson, Jaylen, Jae and we're linked to Hayward in free agency.

Lots o' small forwards there.

Yeah ...

First of all, I don't think having too many 6'6'' - 6'9'' wings is a "problem" in today's league.  You need lots of those guys to compete with the elite teams.

With that said ...

The BIGGEST gap between the Celts are the truly elite squads is the lack of MVP caliber talent.  Yes, they have IT, but he's just one guy.  Fultz could be a second.  AND Fultz could be that kind of player long after IT has begun to decline.

I really don't see Jackson as that kind of prospect.  To me he's at best an Andre Iguodala / Joe Johnson type of player.

Somebody who can't shoot.
Yeah. Like zizic or yabusele.

Really pho, a troll one liner from you?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Not sure how Zizic / Yabu factor into this ...

The talk is that Ainge loves Jackson, a non-shooter.  Or maybe he wants to go after some other gritty, tough, underappreciated tweener type, like D'Aaron Fox or Jon Isaac.

I think Ntlinika is a lot like Marcus Smart.

A combo guard. Tough defender. Good size and strength. More of a secondary ball-handler or setup guard than a playmaker.

In short ... totally superfluous to our roster.

Smart can't shoot. Ntilikina shot 40.3% from three this year. Unlike Smart he can play off-ball on offense.

Tatum have the same scoring potential as Fultz and unlike Fultz, he actually fills a positional need. All Fultz have on the defensive end is potential.
