1. Trade Brooklyn 2018 + Rozier + Avery Bradley to INDY for Paul George
2. Trade Jaylen Brown + Jae Crowder + Tyler Zeller to CHI for Jimmy Butler
3. Sign Blake Griffin
4. Draft Markelle Fultz

Team
PG: Thomas
SG: Butler
SF: George III
PF: Griffin
C: Horford

Bench
Fultz
Zizic
Nader
Yabusele
Etc.

We can't trade for those two and then sign Griffin
I'm bitter.

Yup, this is financially impossible.

Why would this be financially impossible if matching salaries are going out? Right now we have room for signing a max. The 2 proposed trades have equivalent salaries going both ways.

Avery Bradley and Rozier combined do not match Paul George's salary.

On top of that, Zeller is being used as "matching" salary in the Butler trade, but part of the max cap space we can have this summer is his guarantee not being picked up

Then the following year, George bolts for LA and Jaylen surpasses Jimmy Butler.  Griffin also likely gets hurt.  This is the worst off-season idea I have seen in a while.

Yes, you are right about that.  TP.

Just some of the "difficulties" with your strategy:

1)Bradley and Rozier make about $11 million while George will make About $19.5 million.

2) Zeller is inconsequential since he doesn't have a guaranteed contract and we need to let him go along with many others to free up cap space for any max free agent. Chicago would hardly be interested in him.

3) With enough maneuvering you can do #3 and #4 but bring in only one of Butler/George reasonably. The future luxury tax implications would be staggering.

Any cap experts please correct any errors.

As stated, salaries don't match.  The only way you could go all in, have salaries match, and have a remote chance of convincing both teams to give up these two all-stars would be:

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/6878104

Pacers get Bradley, Zeller, Rozier, and 2017 BKN #1

Bulls get Crowder, Brown, Smart, Jackson, and 2018 BKN #1

Celtics get Butler and George, and still have salary cap space to pick up another top tier FA.

Basically, you mortgage your future for a 3-5 year window that doesn't include any depth off the bench.  However, your starting 5 is stacked.  Pacers and Bulls would both have to decide that they are unwilling to contend for at least the next 5 years in the east, and that they are taking a slow road of youth development.

It's fun to dream, but getting both teams to help you build the next superteam in the east is next to impossible.
