KO is going to get offers in the 15million range per year, and although it's a fair price, it takes up much valuable cap space without giving us an upgrade. I'd much rather offer a two year thirty million deal to Gasol, who can play center with Al and be a nightmare mismatch for any frontcourt in the league. I think it kills two birds with one stone (gets rid of a soft big and gives us a good center to play) and we should at least contemplate this option if we can't sign Griffin or Hayward.

He's not lol, why on earth would the Spurs still play him in the playoffs while benching your boy Dedmon if he was?

Decent idea. Gasol for 1 or 2 years isn't so bad

The same reason Ginobili was benched for Brent Barry.

The most likely scenario is that the C's will create around 30 million in cap space this off season through one of a couple different avenues.  Spending 15 million of that on Gasol means no Hayward, Griffin or whatever other max level free agent comes available.  K.O. does not require the use of cap space to re-sign.

Gasol + 15 million in cap space to spend in free agency.
                     or
K.O. + 30 million in cap space to spend in free agency.

Not that simple. We can go over the cap to sign KO, we can't for Gasol. So if we sign Gasol it impacts other free agent signings such as Hayward or Griffin

KO's  cap hold impacts signing of Hayward or Griffin too.  To have the necessary cap space, either KO needs to be let go or Bradley needs to be traded without getting back salary.

Any of the Gasol brothers, even Pau at 37 years old, would excel in Brad's ball movement system. And they can shoot beyond the arc quite well. TP

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Gasol brothers, still, I wouldn't want them on our team at this stage of their careers. Pau (2nd best Euro center ever IMO) is in the winter of his career, and while still brilliant at times at the offensive end he is not the defensive big we seek. Marc is a Memphis lifer, nothing new here, plus he has that contract.
We are on a different timeline, they had their timelines filled with achievements and trophies.

Lol. Dedmon definitely isn't my boy. He was a solid defensive player. Gasol is horrible on defense, slow and only getting slower. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he retired.

Exactly, so we certainly couldn't use that space to sign Gasol

If we end up going all in to try to win in the next two years I'm in favor of signing Gasol.  I don't think he's cooked at all.  I think it's more a product of Pop limiting minutes on all the old players.  If the plan is to let the young guys develop and wait out Golden State for a few years, then Gasol is a bad idea.

Isn't that money already earmarked for a max free agent though.
