Where do you think he will end up? And what happened to him did he just not work hard enough?  What a failure of a lottery pick

I think there's a good chance James Young ends up on the Nets. I agree with you.

That's the thing about going for boom or bust draft prospects after the lottery. You're gonna miss a lot more than you hit.

Also, let's be fair to James Young and Danny Ainge. Young was NOT a lottery pick. The lottery is 1-14. James Young was picked 17th.

I think that Young was one of those young guys that thought that being drafted was the finish line but it's really just the starting line. It could be too late for him but he's still young and maybe after a wake up call of being cut at the end of the year, he may still do something in the league. There is new talent coming in every year so if you don't work as hard as possible you miss your chance, see Sully...

Young is still pretty young, and he seemed to improve this season, just not enough.  Nets or other low-lying teams that need shooters are good bets.

He was picked #17 so he wasn't a lottery pick.  There is nothing elite about Young to overcome his limitations.  The Nets would be a good landing spot for him.

I have 2 reasons why I think its the nets for him-
-nets can experiment with a project like young and actually feeding him minutes
-Young is one of few players signed to Jay Z Roc nation Sports agency or whatever its called.

Wasn't he the first of the Nets picks we got? Poetic justice if he goes to the Nets

What if young has a Lin-sanity moment playing with Jeremy Lin? It would be like when Chauncey billups and Joe johnson decided to do big stuff on other teams lol

Billups and JJ were traded during their rookie seasons.

Young is a total flake. He naturally had the shot and everything that HARDWORKING players would kill for. D. Russell and James Young share some mental traits. They both think that they have "arrived" and they use their age as an excuse, IMO,  as to why they are not doing certain things on the court.
Remember at 19 James Young adjusted incredibly well to the NBA 3(which is like 3feet longer)..making almost 4 3's a game at around 43% while in the DL. It was more than promising and even opposing coaches said he was too good to play in the DL.  What a fool.......

depending on the contract and the number of spots left on the roster, the Celtics might bring him back for at least another training camp battle.  He can shoot and he can attack and finish with nice floaters and soft touch.  He has improved his defense to where Brad can use him during the regular season if we have injuries.  At 21, he still has time to find his minutes.

It would be understandable if the Celtics move in another direction but bringing him back on a long and super cheap contract may end up working out in the long run.  Because right now, he is going to be better than any second rounder we bring in this draft.
