what number does he wear? He wore 23 in college and 32 in NBA both of which are retired numbers.

Does Kevin McHale grant him permission to wear #32? Now that I think about it, this could be how the Celtics lure him...

"Hi Blake, Danny Ainge. Are you ok if I bring Kevin McHale onto this line?"

dont unretire a number for Blake Griffin.

He can wear 8 or 9.

The Boston Celtics should never unretire any number every number is up in the rafters.  He can pick a new number.

If the number was the deal breaker you get McHale on line 2 and seal the deal. They were going to do it for Durant.

It really depends on the actual person or families. In Reggie's case, his mom and wife gave a go-signal to unretire his jersey if ever Durant signs.

I don't understand this thread at all - to me, getting Griffin is less than 10%.

Maybe even less with Jerry West with the Clips now.

This thread is a joke and poking fun at the Gordon Hayward/Markelle Fultz number debate, as well as this recent assumption that BG is coming to Boston.

Besides, I think the real issue is whether we can unretire #23 for LeBron when he signs here, who has expressed his desire to play with Kelly Olynyk and Yabu.

Well, we heard 2 things :
- first from Griffin who basically said that first thing he'll do in FA is sign back with the Clippers (he added he can't wait for this).
- second from WOJ who said Griffin was impressed with the whole Pierce fans stuff in Boston.

Now what it means to me, he appreciates the respect we got for our champions AND he wants to re-sign with the Clippers.

So, how is he signing with us or even give us a meeting?

PS: Plus Jerry West signing as consultant to the Clippers means that they intend to attract FAs, not get rid of them.

Give him McHale's number? People have really lost it around here.
Even suggesting to make that call is an insult to everything Celtic Pride stands for.

The guy is a legend, one of the best PF's in NBA history. He's earned his spot in the rafters.

There's no debate on that IMO. The rookie would have to pick a new number.

Maybe he can start a new trend, give him 2 numbers.

He can wear #6 at home and #33 on the road.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class
